Mass murder at a sunny college campus in a beach town would normally be considered "newsy," but Elliot Rodger's massacre at the University of California-Santa Barbara last Friday is getting surprisingly little press.
This is not a good case for liberals: The killer was an immigrant, a person of color, and the majority of his casualties resulted from attacks with a car or knife. It makes as much sense to rant about the NRA as to blame the Auto Club of America or the National Knife Collectors Association.
Rather, what we have is yet another mass murder committed by a schizophrenic -- just like those of Seung-Hui Cho, Jared Loughner, James Holmes and Adam Lanza.
Yes, they all used guns. Also, they were all males. They were all college-aged. They all had hair. Those are not distinctive characteristics.
When the last five mass murderers share something that only 1 percent of the population has, I think we've found the relevant common denominator.
Rodger had been seeing therapists since he was 8 years old. Just last year, his psychiatrist, Dr. Charles Sophy, prescribed him Risperidone, an anti-psychotic. But after looking up what Risperidone was for -- schizophrenia -- Rodger decided "it was the absolute wrong thing for me to take" and never did.

Mental illness is not a factor to the opportunistic, hysterical gun grabbers.
Sad case of a weirded out man, deep in illusion.
Nikolai Gogol, great writer.
Sometimes sin can be of such a kind that it overtakes a person’s entire mind. And I’m a poet and don’t know it, I rhyme every time :-).
Did he ghostwrite the madman’s manifesto?
The obsessions about sex would have been seen as crazy in the older days. Now it’s just “normal.”

Trouble is, he wasn’t complaining about what the lava lamp said. He was complaining about how the lovers looked. And because we are so bleepedly oversexed in this land today, Nobody Cared.
With some of the lunacy that comes from the gun-grabbers, I'm not so sure...
They are just afraid of being institutionalized.
I think he means, they don’t care about trying to keep the maddest of madmen away from society.
Yup.
Given the violence normally stems from the Left, its collective desire to eradicate guns makes sense. The problem, however, is that we’re not all deranged Leftists that need to be corralled.
Wow! Ann knocked that one out of the park.

I don’t mean to sound grim, but existence is intrinsically evil, and not necessarily in the animated sense.
I reiterate:
With some of the lunacy that comes from the gun-grabbers, I'm not so sure...
They are just afraid of being institutionalized.
Much of their hoplophobia that cannot be directly traced to posturing for profit, seems to be a personal fear of either their ineptitude or what they might do with a firearm should they have one, projected onto others.
Then there are the ones who want to control everyone...
Neither is a particularly mentally healthy subset of the human race, imho.
Not even all of the leftists are that deranged, but those who are cannot imagine being any other way.
For them, the fear of weapons may be a healthy thing, if they are afraid they cannot control themselves well enough to not present a danger to those around them.
It is in projecting their emotional problems onto others where they start drifting away from the saner part of the bell curve.
Animated? Like a cartoon?
A Christian salvation experience can bring a madman out of his madness. It’s not always instant like the New Testament attesting miracles and sometimes the road can be pretty frighteningly bumpy. But holiness can bring a road to sanity, of course with the devil yanking this way and that all the while.
There COULD be a sympathy factor. Dunno. They may just not be as enamored of normalcy.
