5% Carry 60% of Fed Income Tax; 5% Carry 100% of Free Republic Expense

Free Republic gets about 40,000 unique hits a day. Going to the state donor numbers, we get about 2300 donors. That is about a 5.5% rate of readers to donors.

My testimony is that Free Republic is the best website on the internet. Notice that I didn't say, "the best conservative, small government, pro-God, pro-Life, pro-Gun, etc." website. That is true, but Free Republic is more.

I just had a near real time discussion with a FRiend on freepmail.

I've had zero pop-ups, ads, thefts, etc. since 1998. It was all discussion all the time. Where else do you get that? I’ve used my credit card in our secure system also since 1998 and I’ve never had a problem. Target, Michaels, and Neiman Marcus should be so good.

This is the best discussion software ever created. Bar none. I can track every comment I've made, every response to it, and I can reply and reply again and again and again. All of that without the dreaded outline gradually indenting until all that remains is the right side of the screen page.

There are links back to previous comments, there are links that bring up all responses to a comment.

It amazes me how much like a conversation Free Republic is.

AND, we have a moderator staff dedicated both to free expression AND to maintaining the conservative identity of Free Republic and to banging heads when necessary. They get their marching orders from our main man, Big Jim Thompson, who, with his brother Matt Dillon, keeps the riffraff liberal troll deadbeats away from our town.

So, if you're part of the 94%, then Mitt Romney was talking about you. It got him in trouble.

It'll probably get me in trouble.

Brother, can you spare even a dime?

And it pains me everyday that it now takes two bleepin’ months to keep this place open.

Too many FReeploaders.

There. I said it.

It pains the FReepathon team too. We work 8 months a year, 7 days a week, 10 to 14 hours a day and the majority of posters ignore donating. It’s the same people who sacrifice and give, sometimes 2 and 3 times, each ‘thon.

“FR’s quarterly nut is $85,000. Divided by 3, FR’s monthly nut is around $28,350. According to the scoreboard (scroll to the bottom), there are 680 monthly donors that give $11,428 per month, leaving $16,900 to be made up through the FReepathon.”

So 1.7% of freepers are monthly donors, and they make up over 40% of freerepublic’s income. Multiply the monthly donors by 2.5, or if 4.25% of freepers donated monthly, there would be no need for freepathons.

You are probably right. UK has perfected the 4th quarter fade, decades of training has paid off. They look good for 3 and 1/2 quarters often have a decent lead then they look up at the clock and see they have a lead and promptly lay down. My theory is they cannot handle the idea of actually winning a game, especially in the SEC.
When Ky accidentally gets a good player they become very predicable. When Moe Williams played for em their total offense became, hand the ball to Moe. So many of the opposing team was hanging off the kid he looked like a Christmas tree running down the field.
I will make you this bet, our lard butted Walmart women can surely take yours. Ours specialize in bending or squatting down to look at something on the very bottom shelf, showing their black or optional red throng disappearing somewhere that probably aint sanitary, displaying the required tramp stamp and their great agility while weighing in at 350. I can walk thru our store and put together a team in under 20 minutes on any Friday or Saturday evening. Our girls can squat down grab something fattening from the bottom shelf, backhand two crying younguns on the way up while glaring at their 120 pound husband and saying something evil to him at the same time. Multitasking is a way of life with our girls.
Youall have high schools in Ohio? Who knew?
Does any school in Ohio play basketball?

That was a good appeal for help. I am a 300 club donor. I have been unemployed for several months. John Galt said it is ok to spend Galt’s Gulch gold to keep FR alive.

You didn’t know that Kentucky recruits its basketball players in Ohio?

I’ve got to challenge you on the WalMart BuckeyeEttes versus the Walmart BriarEttes. Our WalMart BuckeyeEtte baby-daddies weigh in at 250-300 and they toughen their ladies with regular visits to family services after affectionate bouts with momma and kids.

BuckeyeEttes take a lickin’ and keep on tickin’. They’ll kick out that remaining tooth your team cherishes so much.

I didn’t know Buckeyes had high schools till you told me. If they do they are obviously being educated beyond their intelligence.

To threaten to knock out our BriarEttes sparse teeth may well be fighting words, I will have to check. Dueling used to be legal in Ky, this is where Andrew Jackson would bring his victims so he could legally shoot em, I will check the law books to see if it is still legal. If it is I will draw you a map in crayon since I know no Buckeye can use a GPS.
That aside, there is a lot to be said for a woman with no teeth. Buckeyes aint too worldly are they?

You certainly misread what I wrote. I specifically used the singular "tooth". If you have any teams with more than one tooth amongst the entire lot, then we're gonna have to review the scouting films and see what we've missed. We might have to knock out TWO teeth.

Gumming things has never got my fires kindled. If God wants something covered in spit then he gives it teeth to chew with before digesting.

‘Only the Catholics have High Schools.’
The Catholics are a smart bunch, at least the ones I have dealt with. I have much admiration of their Biblical knowledge and their knowledge of the history of the church.
Our public schools are pretty much as you describe and the bad part is that our churches are becoming activity based for our youth. Folks say it helps keep them busy and off drugs, it also makes them Biblical illiterates.

The youth coming up today are going to have a hard row to hoe as the result of lazy parents content to let them and in many cases enable them to be babysat by computer games and cell phones. My 2 youngest sisters are prime examples of this. When I heard my 8 year old nephew was being allowed to play these games by his mother, I raised more he11 than a pet ape, to no avail.
One thing I will say about my two Ky sisters is that their kids can hunt and fish from an early age. The game thing is largely the result of the keeping up with the Jones virus.
Since my father died and I am the oldest it falls to me to attempt to straighten them out. Most thankless job I have ever undertaken. But Dad gave me my orders, so no choice.

The thing that really P’s the public school’s O, is that the Catholics in Ohio absolutely kick their butt academically, and then they turn around a kick their butts all over the sports fields, too.

Can you imagine? They demand, insist that students work at their education. And then they still find time for recreation at the highest level.

Imagine what can be accomplished with a plan.

I’m not catholic, by the way. Just an observer.

That does it. I am getting out the dreaded crayons.
In the immortal words of the Duke,’Fill your hand, you Son ofa Buckeye!’ or something like that.
