SALT LAKE CITY (AP) A gay rights organization is calling on Utah Gov. Gary Herbert to apologize for suggesting homosexuality is a choice and for calling decisions by other state leaders to not defend same-sex marriage bans the "next step to anarchy."
John Netto, head of the Utah Pride Center's board, said the governor's comments during his monthly televised news conference Thursday were hurtful.
"To suggest that allowing gay marriage is the foundation of anarchy, to us, is hate speech," Netto told The Salt Lake Tribune (http://bit.ly/1mjgsGh ). "We think he is uneducated ... on current scientific positions in regard to human sexuality."
Herbert's office didn't immediately respond to requests for comment

Gaystapo at it again.
Don’t give an inch, Governor!
When is that stupid, backward, Christian redneck going to stop being so hateful and incivil?!
This guy is in Utah.....He better not apologize because he will be reelected anyway.....Florida and Pennsylvania may be a different story. Although both will probably lose their governorships anyway.
Dont give in! Tell them to shove it!
Keep the faith!
I agree. . .this Governor hopefully realizes He answers to a Higher Power. . God Almighty. .the Maker of Heaven and Earth . . . . and male and female made He them.
“To suggest that allowing gay marriage is the foundation of anarchy, to us, is hate speech”
And we think trying to destroy and denigrate the Christian view of marriage is both hate speech and blasphemy.
So there, twinkle toes.
Good point.Liberals are allowed to say and do anything, no matter how offensive or hateful towards others, and we’re not supposed to say anything.
But here we someone suggest that homosexual marriage and homosexuality are not positive, and he is charged with hate speech. And due to political correctness, we are supposed to cower in fear of being charged with hate speech.
Political correctness is horse blank. We are allowed to have opinions about homosexual marriage, whether they have a hissy fit or not.
For some it is a choice. For others it is a mental malfunction that occurred after they were sexually molested as children. Either way, it is sexual perversion, and society isn’t served by promoting it.
It's a pity that your agenda is so pathetic, so weak, that you have to twist what someone says into something that they didn't say in order to get sympathy. That tells everyone everything they need to know about you right there.
No industrial strength eye wash in the world will help me now.
If most Americans had really gone in for this folly and voted it in, this would be one matter. But it has been foisted on them. We can quibble about whether to call it anarchy or something else, but it is rotten.

This is nothing less then thought control.
Why of course it is.
I wonder if these bullies will sooner or later bend themselves out of shape in vain over someone who flat refuses to do that.
To suggest that buggering each other is the equivalent of a sacred and enshrined heterosexual institution is, to logic and to sane people, hate speech.
