Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban talked about the NBA's decision to ban Donald Sterling and force him to sell the Clippers in a new interview at Inc.'s GrowCo conference in Nashville.
While he acknowledged that NBA commissioner Adam Silver "had to do it," he reiterated his statement that forcing Sterling to sell the team for making racist comments is "a slippery slope."
In a supplemental interview on Inc.com, he said that everyone, including himself, holds prejudices:
"We're all prejudiced in one way or the other. If I see a black kid in a hoodie and it's late at night, I'm walking to the other side of the street. And on that side of the street there's a guy who has tattoos all over his face — white guy, bald head, tattoos everywhere — I'm walking back to the other side of the street ... I know that I'm not perfect. I know I live in a glass house and it's not appropriate for me to throw stones."
Instead of kicking people to the curb, Cuban says those with racist or bigoted views should be rehabilitated with things like sensitivity training:
"It's part of my responsibility as an entrepreneur to try to solve it, not just to kick the problem down the road. It does my company no good, it does my customers no good, it does society no good if my response to somebody and their racism or bigotry is to say, 'It's not right for you to be here, go take your attitude somewhere else.'"
Cuban wasn't talking strictly in the context of the Sterling issue here, but his comments certainly apply to what's going on with the disgraced Clippers owner.

The left has nothing and they see their time slipping away.
Now they fight with mud and sling slurs trying to provoke anger and hatred.
That’s all they have.
Jesse Jackson pretty much said the same thing.
Stopped clock, blind pig . . . . .
RE: Cuban is walking a tightrope between his Marxist ideology
Cuban is LIBERTARIAN leaning.

RE: If I see a black kid in a hoodie and it’s late at night, I’m walking to the other side of the street.
George Zimmerman tried walking AWAY, but Trayvon Martin wouldn’t let him go, so walking on the other side of the street might not help. Carrying a gun would do....
Which means, Mark has said something and now is covering it up by painting everyone with a broad brush.
If he is sincere, then I welcome him to our world, even if he's only dipping his toe in the water or starting to wade in, as the case may be.
He is right. Virtually everyone has prejudices about something or someone. The term “bigot” is whatever the name-caller defines. It might be a race, a habit like smoking, religion, body size and looks, what you drive, where you live, political ideology, or even something as mundane as a rival sports team.
Yeah, I’m bigoted, so what?
I don’t like nor tolerate racists, leftists, homosexual activists, “community organizers”, a-holes, etc...
I would love to see Mark Cuban vote no, when the NBA owners vote on taking away the Clippers franchise from Sterling. Put his money where his mouth is.
No, it means he’s right.
Being prejudiced is smart. It can keep you alive.
Furthermore people are indeed racist, for lack of a better word.
It is quite obvious that people prefer to be around other people of their own race.
That does not mean in any way that I hate or do not like or am not capable of liking or accepting people of other races.
But in all of my life, the GREAT majority of my close friends have all been white.
I’ll offer even further evidence that he is right.
In prison, when a person has nothing, what people cling to is race. It is in fact the only thing that matters, and it can and will keep you alive.
What if there is no unsavory character to be spotted?
What if it is simply a neighborhood?
What if you car broke down on Martin Luther King Blvd in any major urban area at 1:00 am?
What if it’s not a neighborhood, but rather an entire city?
Avoiding being in such scenarios isn’t exactly racism either, but I’d say it is prejudice, and that it is smart, and race is most certainly involved in such thought processes.
Who are these folks?
I have noticed that when a minority takes control of an organization, they end up with a disproportionate number of their group.
When women takes over as head of an organization all of a sudden you see a lot more women in the organization.
The same is true whether it be Hispanics, African Americans, Asians, or old white guys.
I don't know if it is because they are prejudiced or because they need people they can work with more effectively.
