Yup. Stalin and Mao found famines to be very useful tools, but they were kind of messy and a lot of work. If the government can shutdown individuals, or neighborhoods, or cities, then you get surgical terror strikes. Pacification would be an easy thing.

And your car. Don’t forget your car. That technology has already been invented - the version that works in coordination with OnStar once the owner reports it stolen - but TPTB haven’t yet managed to require this “feature” on all new models of cars. Don’t worry; I’m sure once it’s added onto every newly manufactured vehicle, costs will come down. And you need never worry about hackers. They’re already against the law. Nor will law enforcement agencies or government regulatory beaurocrats ever abuse the ability to point a remote control at your auto or the one next to you or in front of you, and shut off its engine. Not in the absense of eminent need to save human life. These people only are our friends and are here to help us. Why do you call them socialists like it’s a bad thing? What could possibly be wrong about that, Citizen?
