Boris Johnson renewed his US passport in November 2012, the London Mayor's aides have confirmed. He was born in New York and is thus a "natural-born citizen", a constitutional requirement for any presidential candidate. He told David Letterman in 2012 that he could "technically speaking" be US president. In Johnson's 2006 Spectator piece he wrote: "When the going has got tough in England it has sometimes crossed my mind that I could yet activate the Schwarzenegger option and flee to the land of opportunity, perhaps beginning as a short-order chef in Miami before winding up as Colorado senator and, inevitably, president."

He’d be a whole lot better than what we have now and he’s a hoot.
Why are Americans so keen on “novelty” presidents? We’ve lately seemed to be completely fixated on superlatives in our public offices: first black president, first woman presidential candidate, first former first lady to become president. Who gives a damn? It seems when we have your normal, run-of-the-mill old white guy in office, shit gets done. When will the adults take over again?
I would have taken Churchill as POTUS in a heartbeat.
In the bipartisan court rulings that ensured that both Barry and McCain would be eligible to be POTUS no matter what, yes, even the colorful Boris, Lord Mayor of London could, apparently become POTUS, if the delusional Ankeny ruling is allowed to stand.
It gets even more interesting with Boris. As can be seen from his very interesting Wiki page:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boris_Johnson
If you click on the “Ancestry” button on the page you get the expanded family tree for Boris.
Boris Johnson’s real family name is a Turkish Moslem family name of Kemal or Bey from the Ottoman Empire!
Boris is also the direct descendant of King George II of England!
Boris is no Churchill who whose mother was a red-blooded American and could easily have been a genuine American president in spirit, if not legally so. Boris left the US shortly after he was born.
Are you sure about that? He thought Obama was a hoot when he penned an article saying Obama would be a good president. I haven’t seen anything afterwards to indicate he came to his senses.
But then the UK would have been left without it’s greatest Prime Minister.
Don’t you have to live continuously in the US for 14 years prior to being president?
Ping to BBC amusing themselves speculating about whether their colorful London mayor Boris could be US president (he has US citizenship...
We could have elected him after the Brits threw him out in 1946.
You have to have lived in the United States for 14 years per the constitution, to be president.
so if he was born in the USA, and thus a citizen by birth, but has not been living in America, then he is ineligible.
That’s the way I understand it to be.
“Dont you have to live continuously in the US for 14 years prior to being president?”
I think that’s why he mentioned working as a short-order cook and working his way up...to POTUS! Why that could take 14 years, I would guess...
Hell,I'd take Churchill,Thatcher,Stephen Harper or John Howard over what we have now.All were/are better "Americans".But then Churchill *was* half American,as he once told a joint session of Congress.
He’s just plain funny. In spite of the humorless dolts who seem to think he actually intends to run for president here its fun to speculate about.
Harriet Jones looks tired.
