NEW YORK -- It took nearly the entire draft, but Michael Sam and the NFL finally made history.
The St. Louis Rams used the 249th pick in the seventh round to select Sam, who has officially become the league's first openly gay player.
Being picked by St. Louis means Sam will stay in the state where he played college football as a standout at the University of Missouri.

has the NFL just become the new Ken doll?
(fathers keep your son awaaaay from the ken doll)
Well, I took my dog outside when we came home from an early Mothers’ Day dinner. I told her to find her Frisbee my wife had put on a table about three hours earlier. She went straight to the table, stood on her hind legs and brought it to me. We played catch the Frisbee for about thirty minutes.
On the way home, my wife wanted me to stop at the local grocery store to get some flowers for her mother. I saw our new neighbor and told her I liked her new Lexus SUV since her son is driving and took her F250. I also asked when she was last carded, since our 28 yr old daughter gest that same treatment. She said within the past month.

Too slow to play linebacker.... too small to be an every down NFL D-End. He’s a situational pass rusher... the Rams are loaded there. I wish him luck, he’ll have a chance to stick with another team..... I just don’t see him making the Rams roster.
If conservatives gave up their government school habit and cut the cable/satellite, it would bring the lib establishment to its knees through a substantial defunding. The left is far more serious in pursuing its agenda than we are.
“would they treat him the same if he had a sexual relationship with his dog?”
O’Bambi is on first name relationships with those of the Muzzies who like sheep...
you have to feel for those players whose life long dream to play in the NFL was destroyed by this selfish sexual pervert.
But why? It’s so much more satisfying to complain and do nothing but help them spread it.
Just look at this thread and every other that has people screaming. Not a single one of them will skip sending the $100 tithe to the cable co. not one. Football is too important. Game of Thrones or the Walking Dead is too important.
Frauds.
Will the Rams play Pete Townsend’s “Rough Boys” after a sack?
Faux sports just showed the kiss during the Kansas race. Ugh.
I think he already has one. The ESPN coverage of Sam after he was drafted showed him hugging a boyfriend during most of the in-home coverage. There were even scenes of Sam and boyfriend eating cake out of each other's mouths as they celebrated.
There were no comments about the boyfriend from ESPN (that I heard), and they probably got more than they bargained for, but did not cut away from some of the more affectionate moments.
Where will they play? Maybe Jack Kemp Stadium at Occidental College, which would be available on Sundays. They wouldn't have to worry about losing TV coverage by not selling out, since it only seats 2,400.
Probably be a lot of signs in the audience that the cameras have to work around. And lots of folks trying to sneak something clever past them.
BS: ratings means cost. with new DVR cable tech tracking lower ratings for games means ESPN can not charge companies to carry their sports bundle.
How about deleting the nfl package? how about not going to a sports bar on football night when the rams are playing anywhere or anyone.
Is that Rich Eisen? It sure looks like it after his virtual Lewinsky he gave today of Sam and Manziel
speak for yourself. i stopped the monthly tithe to the cable company years ago.
If you are sorry to post that, then why post it?
