As two state troopers struggled to arrest his father, a 19-year-old man armed himself with an assault rifle and shot them seven times, killing them outside his home in a remote Alaska village, authorities said in charges filed Saturday.

The semiautomatic in previous ADN coverage has become an assault rifle today.
Condolences to the families and friends of the Troopers...justice for the perp and may it be swift...
How many of us or our relatives will be forced into that kind of scenario when the regime starts kicking doors in?
Alaska does not have the death penalty but this murdering piece of trash will never get out of prison.
I hate back shooters. Lower than whale ****.
Witnessing two police officers gang up on his father, probably physically aggressive, struggling with him, I can understand the urge to get involved and stop them.
That said, shooting them was stupid and he’ll likely be in jail for a very long time, if not the rest of his life.
I DO NOT like this. I hate the PIGS as much as anyone on this site, but we do have a JUSTICE SYSTEM and you simply don’t kill them in cold blood. Those troopers likely had kids, and almost certainly had close family.
If we want to retain OUR RIGHT to own firearms, we still have to defer to authorities, at least until we get to fight them in court.
All this for driving without a license?
And imagine what an incredibly cold heart you'd have to have to mow down two men from behind. From the picture, the shooter is clearly an Indian, and knowing how well Indians deal with liquor (not well), I have to wonder if there was some firewater involved in his decision to open fire.
“I hate the PIGS as much as anyone on this site..”
PIGS? FReepers hate the PIGS?
Count me out on your view of FReepers “on this site” hating police officers.
Yes, but was it black?
So you're saying the kid was justified in shooting them?
Sorry, I have to call 'foul' on this one. If it is truly a 'right', why defer to anybody? The boys in Concord certainly did not 'defer to authorities', and they had every right not to do so.
Responsibility is accepting the result of one's actions. John Hancock boldly wrote his signature large so the King would know it was him and no other.
So that justifies the shooting of two police officers? Then under what circumstances should police be allowed to arrest someone or outnumber them?
“Count me out on your view of FReepers on this site hating police officers.”
I didn’t say police officers, I said PIGS, which stand for “Police In Gang Situations”.
Anyway, my point is that if we have a problem with police, we DO NOT have the right to take “justice” as we may see it in our own hands, but rather need to trust our legal system. Even police have the RIGHT to come home to their families after their shift. That should be OBVIOUS.
All this for brandishing a gun. The DWLS charge is just to hold on to him. The troopers were out there to investigate a report of the father brandishing a gun.
Do your relatives get boozed up and threaten the neighbors with a gun?
