Ya, my study reached that conclusion 20 years ago.

Note, the FDA knew this 20 years ago, as its include in the warnings and side effects of the drugs. (well, not the shooting part)

That’s what happens when shrinks and lazy parents are enticed by simple solutions.

(for the record, I think there is a link between violence/desensitization and these drugs but...)

This immediately makes it clear whoever wrote this article is very confused about the whole thing:

“James Holmes the Colorado batman shooter, had taken 100 milligrams of Vicodin immediately before he shot up the movie theater”

What does that have to do with the topic at hand or the price of cheese curds in Wisconsin?

(Hint: Vicodin is an opioid and hepatotoxin (acetaminophen), not psychiatric related drug)

These drug companies and doctors should be sued to the max for unleashing these demonic killers among us and our children.

So depressed, suicidal people are more likely to be suicidal, unless they are putting Zoloft in school lunches?

I wonder if the Kennesaw FedEx shooter was on any of these. Ditto Sandy hook, Aurora CO, Gabby Giffords shooters as well. And probably a pile more we could come up with.

Public Government School promote this crap.
Young boys are acting like young boys.Young teachers cant handle this and deem the kid as having a perceived disorder when all that is happening is the young boy is being a “Young Boy”.
This is all part of the pusifacation of america brought on by the radical womens movement that would like to transform young boys into what they feel young boys should be.A pusssy
Just look at the previous post about the “young boy” shaping a pastry into a gun. That boy is the only normal one in the story

Extremely misleading headline. The import of the story is NOT that the drugs themselves “cause” the problems, but that HIGH DOSES are associated with the problems.

(Pseudo-Crisis eliminated. Now on to the next one!)

Indeed, this study showed that “suicidal behavior is twice as likely when children and young adults are randomized to antidepressants compared with when they are randomized to placebo.”

So this is saying that these antidepressants at these levels do far more harm than good? If this is so, these pharmaceutical companies and the FDA should be criminally libel for the incredible damage the use of these products have caused.

Beware. Medication only masks the symptoms. Underneath that happy, happy person is a crazy when he goes off his meds. Kind of like cats who show affection but really want to eat you.

The risk danger in this is the increased dosages especially in younger persons would be an adverse reaction called Serotonin Syndrome.

Essentially the Serotonin located mainly in the digestive tract migrates to the brain. The potency of this chemical in the brain is pretty much like LSD. It may be the individuals lower tolerance to the medication or it can be an over the counter cold medication which has also been documented to trigger it.

I saw a person go through it from beginning stage till a near stroke and extreme hallucinations and even at one point unconsciousness. The most disturbing part of it all was the extreme lack of ability of doctors involved including the prescribing one to diagnose it much less recognize it.

Could these meds under the wrong circumstances trigger a person to where they did violent acts that if not taking the medications they would have never considered doing? IMO Yes it's very possible if they were having this adverse reaction.

Doctors freak at writing a prescription for drugs like Valium, Xanax, etc which will not cause this to happen {the antidote to Serotonin actually} and write antidepressant medications out like candy in ignorance.
