Bandoliers are for belt fed.
On second thought, I’m wrong. I think those Mexican “banditos” and such on the old west had individual cartridges in belts, for later loading into their rifles or pistols by hand.

Yes, the current Army resupply configuration is a cloth 7 pocket bandoleer with 21 ea (3 to a pocket) 10 round stripper clips and a mag loader for a total of 210 rounds ( 7 mags worth, a basic soldiers fighting load)....
Has been such since the advent of the M16.
