Clinton said she struggled as a young woman between her fathers insistence on self-reliance and her mothers concern for compassion. She reconciled those in the Biblical story of Jesus instructing his disciples to feed 5,000 people with just five loaves of bread and two fish.
The disciples come to Jesus and suggest they send away the people to find food to fend for themselves. But Jesus said, No. You feed them, Clinton said. He was teaching a lesson about the responsibility we all share.

No man can be compelled to tithe to charity by his government as a means of religious obligation.
Something that anti-Christian bigots at the ACLU never seize upon when Democrats utter such requirements to give to the Socialist state (via taxes).

Hillary certainly does not know much about the Bible.....

Slick Willie’s wife sure is pushing religion these days. What’s up with that? I thought the commie libs in the state controlled “media” said that religion is finished in this country.

OK I could go with that...
Liberals seem to think that despite the fact that there is only a few loaves of bread and a couple of fishes, they think they can feed everyone.
Only God could do that, but they think Government is God.
I like this- I could go with it...

I thought the commie libs in the state controlled media said that religion is finished in this country. Not only that, but even the slightest mention of religion in public political debate is a violation of the "constitution" - the "beginnings of a theocracy" - and the perpetrator should be summarily executed (this is the one exception to lib's denunciation of the death penalty.)

Except that social liberals don’t create real stuff like food. They can only create emotion, and now that they control the Presidency, little slips of increasingly worthless paper known as “Dollars”.

I agree. Liberals having an actual, coherent policy that is good for everyone would indeed be a miracle.

So Jesus went to a rich neighboring town, confiscated their fish and gave them to his followers?
Hmmm...

Let me know when shackling people to dependence on an increasingly authoritarian state becomes a bedrock principle of Christ’s grace and I’ll become a liberal.

No. He was demonstrating who He is.
And hillary just demonstrated who leftists are.

Only in the warped mind of an inveterate Leftist — does the account of the fish and loaves transform into a call for Big Government.

The difference is that Jesus was God and could feed the multitude generously with someone’s meager lunch. The government would take the loaves and fish and give it to the head honcho, who would divide it up with his friends and everyone else would go hungry.
The absolute least likely way to help the poor is to leave it to the government. We’ve wasted almost $18 TRILLION taxpayer dollars since LBJ’s disastrous War on Poverty, and we have more poor than ever, dependent on government handouts.
