Report: Kerry says US taped Moscow's calls to spies in Ukraine
By Rebecca Shabad - 04/29/14 08:25 AM EDT
U.S. intelligence officials have recordings proving the Russian government has been directing a network of spies inside eastern Ukraine, Secretary of State John Kerry said in a closed-door meeting Friday, according to The Daily Beast.
Intel is producing taped conversations of intelligence operatives taking their orders from Moscow and everybody can tell the difference in the accents, in the idioms, in the language. We know exactly whos giving those orders, we know where they are coming from, Kerry said in a private meeting with the Trilateral Commission, according to a recording The Daily Beast obtained.
The commission consists of a group of influential world leaders.
Kerry didnt identify specific Russian officials involved in the recordings, the report said.
At the meeting Friday, Kerry also revealed the next round of sanctions the U.S. imposed against Russia on Monday, which target a group of Russian government officials, institutions and businessmen.
If Russian President Vladimir Putin invades eastern Ukraine, the U.S. has plans of sectoral sanctions, Kerry told the group, but clarified hes unsure Putin will go that far.
Im not convinced hes made the decision to cross the line with his troops because then its absolutely no question that its full force sector sanctions, energy, banking, finance, technology, arms, you name it, they are all on the table, Kerry said.
At the same meeting with the Trilateral Commission, Kerry warned Israel was at risk of becoming an apartheid state, The Daily Beast reported.
His remarks provoked a firestorm of criticism from both Democratic and Republicans lawmakers including Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) who called for his resignation.
On Monday night, Kerry walked back his comments and said he would have chosen a different word."
Why not? We’re still using floppy disks in our missile silos.
“We are canceling the B1 bomber program because we have developed top secret stealth techonology that no one else has and that no one else even knows about.” -— Jimmy Carter.
This may be a deliberate leak.
The Russians know they are being listened to. The Ukrainians say they caught a Russian agent trying to smuggle encryption equipment into E. Ukraine.
“He tells Russia we have the ability to spy on them. They just change their way of communicating.”
Even worse, Russia now has a reliable method of feeding us wrong information. The “spies” are probably now being told “Putin is bluffing, he has no intention of using military force (Har Har Har)”
“Life is hard. It’s even harder if you’re a naive, retarded political looser.”
John Wayne, 2014
Russians don’t really need Snowden anymore.
They can just ask John Kerry.
Why was my post #13 deleted?
Thank you.

Taped? Our intelligence services still use audio tape??? I guess all the money to upgrade digital surveillance when to spying on the American people, and the folks spying on folks our government should be spying on are still using audio tape.
“when” should be “went”
When will you be back?
I can’t tell you that. It’s classified. LOL!
Looser than what?
So, can we remove his security clearance now?
It’s an absolute travesty that a traitor like John Kerry can occupy any position of authority in the US government, let alone such an important one.
Your an idiot, you looser. ;-)
Honestly, this guy never ceases to amaze.
What an inept buffoon. Stan Laurel couldn’t out stupid this guy.
Good point. This ‘leak’ was likely intentional.
Now Ynet has Erekat saying “Israel chose apartheid over peace.” Thanks, Lurch.
Uncle Scam records the phone calls of all American citizens so the Russians have to know that their phone calls are being recorded too.
