To: Sub-Driver

My opinion from early on was that the plane headed toward the north and that some country shot it out of the sky as a threat.

They would never have reported that...

Other countries would have looked the other way out of sympathy for such a tough decision.

There’s a piece of me that still would not be surprised to learn that was the actual final fate of 9/11 Flight 93 in Pennsylvania.

Heading SW was a flight into nowhere. Just never made sense IMO.

On 9/11, the husband of a gal I worked with was an officer at Offutt Airforce base here. I don’t remember if it was still called “Strategic Air Command” center. Anyway, while the horror drama was playing out, before the flight 93 situation was resolved, she had spoken to her husband on the phone, and told us that there was talk of shooting down the missing plane, if it was located. So your theory is not out of the realm of possibility.

We shot an Iranian airliner out of the sky and it was reported. We reported it.

The Soviets shot a Korean airliner down and it was reported.

Sympathy from other countries, my foot.
