Sen. Rand Paul, Kentucky Republican, is introducing a measure this week that would cut off all future U.S. aid to Palestine if the country does not recognize Israels right to exist as a sovereign nation.
The rival Palestinian entities Hamas and Fatah recently announced a unity agreement, causing Israel to pull out of peace talks with the country a development that signifies both danger and opportunity to the peace process, Mr. Paul said.
Israel cannot be expected to negotiate with an entity that does not believe it should exist and that has used terrorist tactics to seek its end, Mr. Paul said. That being said, the new unity government has a chance to put itself on the record as clearly believing in the right of Israel to exist as a Jewish state, as Israel recognizes the right of a Palestinian state to exist. It should also declare an immediate and lasting ceasefire to enable negotiations.
If that is accomplished, he continued, the peace process can move forward.

That’s a good idea, but they should not be giving them aid to begin with.
Exactly.
The Paul nuts will be out in full force soon. Yes, his Fathers crazies.
Shouldn't the Muslim nations be giving aid to them instead?
The Palestinians have no intention of _ever_ recognizing Israel’s right to exist. They can’t even do a hudna to that effect.
Oh look ...The cheshire Conservative popped back into view Alice! Welcome to Wonderland!
Why give them a dime in the first place ?
Cut off aid entirely to Egypt, Pakistan and the ‘Palestinian’ Authority. Then we’ll see who is Allah, most merciful, most generous.
Looks like a “two-fer”.
(1) No more aid for the Palestinians.
(2) A tiny chance for ending the war-like strutting and posturing of the Palestinians.
Stupid. So, someone going to insert a reneg clause... pali’s accept Israel, aid comes, pali’s reneg... aid returned?
One pali speaking English says “Recognized!”, while the pali in the back room says “... just kidding”.
It is NOT saying anything that counts, it is the actions themselves that “speak”.
What has happened to Rand Paul?
Give real money in exchange for an unreliable verbal statement?
There is no “Palestine” — that only was an insulting name applied to Israel/Judea by the Romans. There is, and never has been any country named “Palestine.”
Once I see an article using “enemy propaganda vocabulary,” wording invented to create a false alternative narrative in the readers’ minds, I simply cease reading.
Saves me a lot of time and aggravation.
ps: Paul is right, but only partly right on this one.
Certainly no American tax money should be given to enemies of Israel.
But, it does not matter whether “Palestine” ever decides to “recognize” Israel, or not. Who gives a sh*t what a bunch of terrorist murderers SAY they will do? We KNOW what they DO do, they kill Joooos.
TO HELL with “Palestine” and all the anti-American terrorist thugs in the IslamoNazi world. Dear Rand Paul, please try to cancel ALL American give-aways and support to ALL IslamoNazis — including the billions to Iran, all the money and arms being sneaked to Syrian IslamoNazi “rebels,” and all the rest.
The current regime in WashDC has done one thing it was intended to do ... it has placed America, American tax money, American political support, and American arms and logistical support, all in the hands of our enemies around the world.
Please correct this horrible, terrible, and dangerous sedition of USA ... do whatever you properly can in your current position, please ...
You’re statement is one (bit very small) step in the right direction, ... respectfully, sir, we need a thousand more steps in that same direction if we are to reverse the sell-out of America and save the Republic for our children.
You, Rand Paul, are one of a handful of people who can, possibly, do something about this... Please try.
Thank you, Sir.
Wow! I’m starting to be convince the Rand is could compete in 2016... He is ‘try to lead in warfare against Obama and the Dems’.... The WashPost is carrying the story: http://m.washingtonpost.com/politics/sen-rand-paul-possible-2016-republican-contenderto-introduce-pro-israel-legislation/2014/04/27/34cdc664-ce83-11e3-a6b1-45c4dffb85a6_story.html
I’ve got a better idea. Let’s stop all foreign aid from the U.S. government to everyone. Let freely given charity help those in need.
