In February, two BLM rangers fatally shot an unarmed man, D’Andre Berghardt Jr., during a confrontation on State Route 159. A witness captured video footage of the shooting.

Believing the officers were not property trained and used unnecessary force, Dahl said he met with Rep. Steven Horsford, D-Nev., in Washington D.C., who was also concerned about the slaying. Dahl said they were told the BLM was investigating the incident.

“It’s a little scary,” he said.

Reminds me of the homeless guy who was beaten to death — by the police — in Anaheim.

The BLM investigating the BLM. Wonderful.

Like the IRS investigating the IRS. The ATF investigating the ATF. State investigating State Actions in Benghazi.

And "Justice" (so-called) the over-arching enforcer keep all outsiders away.

Wonderful.

So if you’re keeping score:

Blacks killed by BLM 1 - Blacks killed by Cliven Bundy 0

Spooky video. Target practice? They had him restrained and let him go.

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) takes seriously the protection of life and property and treats any loss of human life with the utmost concern. In coordination with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the BLM is investigating the incident and is able to provide at this time the following preliminary information from the ongoing investigation.

On Friday, February 14, 2014, the BLM received several reports from citizens who were concerned for the safety of a man walking along the highly trafficked State Route 159 highway. The citizens reported the man was walking in and out of on-coming traffic. In addition, two cyclists who were bicycling along the highway reported seeing this same man and expressed fear for themselves and the safety of others in the area.

BLM Law Enforcement Officers were dispatched to the scene, and upon arrival made contact with the man later identified as 20-year-old D’Andre Berghardt Jr. BLM officers attempted to speak with Mr. Berghardt in order to ascertain his identity and welfare. At this point, officers ordered Mr. Berghardt out of the roadway.

Mr. Berghardt then began to actively resist the officers. Despite continued attempts to gain compliance through verbal commands and utilizing available secondary measures, including multiple Taser deployments, pepper spray and a baton, the officers were unable to gain compliance. During this time, Mr. Berghardt attempted to gain entry into two occupied privately owned vehicles, which the officers physically tried to prevent for the safety of the public.

A Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper also arrived on the scene and the officers attempted to take Mr. Berghardt into custody after the NHP Trooper deployed his Taser. Mr. Berghardt threatened to shoot the officers and entered the running NHP cruiser where he reached for the trooper’s duty rifle contained in a firearms safety rack. Fearing for their own safety and the safety of the numerous citizens in the immediate vicinity, the two BLM officers engaged Mr. Berghardt with gunfire. Medical personnel were summoned and Mr. Berghardt was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Both BLM law enforcement officers involved have significant law enforcement experience and training, including mandatory annual training. One officer has 17 years of law enforcement experience; the other officer has more than nine years of federal law enforcement experience.

In accordance with standard procedure, this incident is under investigation by the Las Vegas Metro Police Department and the BLM. Until the investigation is complete, the BLM is unable to provide further comments on the details of the shooting or the investigation. The officers have been placed on routine administrative leave.

That is what would have happened to the Bundys if the people had not shown up. You can believe it or not. I suppose that the usual badge lickers and polishers will show up to make excuses for them to defend them and alibi for them. But that was a badge killing, pure and simple.

I’ve alerted Drudge to this, in case he wasn’t aware of it. We need to get this story out there.

A witness captured video footage of
the shooting...“It’s a little scary,” he said.
and that's why they did it, to instill fear / uncertainly...
“Did you really think we want those laws observed?" said Dr. Ferris. "We want them to be broken.
You'd better get it straight that it's not a bunch of boy scouts you're up against... We're after power
and we mean it... There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the
power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals one makes them.
One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What's there in that for anyone?
But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced or objectively interpreted
– and you create a nation of law-breakers – and then you cash in on guilt. Now that's the system,
Mr. Reardon, that's the game, and once you understand it, you'll be much easier to deal with.”

The BLM are bully’s when they out number their victims.

However, counter and out number them, like Nevada and they run
like scared kids.

There is truly strength in numbers.

I don;t understand the tone of this thread.

First, I think the BLM should be completely done away with.

I support Bundy and all of the guys out west that want the land returned ti the states.

However in light of the fact, if it is indeed a fact and can be supported by 911 recordings, that there were calls from citizens who saw this man acting irrationally and in danger to himself as well as possibly others, it seems to me that it is a mistake to condemn the cops.

The troopers rifle was supposed to be in a locked rack, and that part is not good for the cops.

However it is also reasonable to assume that the BLM guys did not know it was locked.

So an interesting question would be whether the BLM guys did all of the shooting or did the trooper shoot him.

At any rate, considering that there were calls from citizens regarding the fellow and that it was not a case of the BLM guys riding down the road and stumbling into this guy and whacking him, it would be smart for everyone to cool it until the facts come out in court.

It looks bad for the cops to shoot an unarmed man, but then again I read of a case where a guy had a .38 unloaded in his gut, all wounds fatal and who died from the wounds.

But he killed the shooter with his bare hands before he died.

So we should wait and see.how badass the deceased was.

Dahl said they were told the BLM was investigating the incident.

Well if the BLM is the lead agency investigating this shooting then why even bother as I think we all know what the end results will be. As usual I have always advocated to NEVER allow a LEO agency to ever investigate itself unless you are wanting a directed no-bill of the involved officer(s). I contend that you cannot remain neutral or unbiased when investigating yourself or your buddies in arms.
