“Next we’ll probably hear something about black people being exempt from military service”

That doesn’t make sense because we have an all volunteer military.

“That doesn’t make sense because we have an all volunteer military.”

I understand that, and it’s a perfectly logical argument. But exemption from military service is on the black nationalist wish-list. Obama has clearly shown he’s no friend of the military, and I think that comes directly from his strong belief in black nationalist sensibilities.

The black nationalists of the past wanted to create a “nation within a nation” where African-Americans would live in the US as separate people, not governed by “white” law which might (for example) compel them to fight white colonial wars (their words, not mine) against other people of color, including African, Arab, Asian, and Hispanic people. It’s in their own literature.

I think we are seeing signs that black nationalism will dictate Obama’s agenda for the remainder of his term in office. So I’m predicting here and now that we’re going to see Obama & Holder try to invoke something along those lines, which will affect race and military service. Wait and see.

The Democratic Congress could authorize another draft if things in Russia or the Middle East flare up, or if there is another terrorist attack against the US. Especially with the military being downsized at the moment to pre-WW2 levels. I have no doubt Obama would use such a crisis to advance his agenda against the white middle class. He might even provoke a crisis for such a reason.
