Thats exactly what I said. I said Im wondering if theyre better off under government subsidy, and their young women are having the abortions and their young men are in jail, and their older women and their children are standing, sitting out on the cement porch without nothing to do, you know, Im wondering: Are they happier now under this government subsidy system than they were when they were slaves, and they was able to have their family structure together, and the chickens and garden, and the people had something to do? And so, in my mind Im wondering, are they better off being slaves, in that sense, or better off being slaves to the United States government, in the sense of the subsidies. Im wondering. Thats what. And the statement was right. I am wondering.
“You have yet to point out what was not true about what Bundy said...”
Would you care to show me exactly where I made such a statement?
“How is it you can have fault with someone speaking the truth...”
Perhaps you can prove that I have a problem with Mr. Bundy’s “truth”.
“You are the deceitful one...”
Huh?
I stated the truth. Where would blacks be today without the freedom they currently have here in the United States?
My discussion on this thread isn’t about the BLM and Feds violation of Mr. Bundy’s Constitutional rights or their abuse of authority.
I’m addressing his comments concerning race/ethnicity, which has absolutely nothing to do with his confrontation with the BLM and Feds.
You called him an idiot. Yet you seem to agree that he spoke the truth Someone who speaks the truth, in your opinion, is an idiot. Get real.
Uncle Sham said:
Slavery in the United States will one day be looked upon as the best thing ever to happen to the black race. It was their key to the door of freedom and independence, and a seat at the table of the modern world.
Uncle Sham, please disregard any further discussion between you and I. Your statement is asinine and categorically ignorant.
The hell that those slaves had to endure was nothing short of horrific. They were torn and separated from their loved ones, taken from their country, and sold like animals into forced servitude. More than half the slaves died while on the ships traveling to the Americas.
Their “handlers” stuffed cloth into their anus’ in order to hide the fact that one had dysentery before being sold. During the voyage, these human beings had to lie in chains in their own waste on a wooden “bed” that had approx. 3 feet of head space. This is just a brief description of what they had to endure.
I don’t think it was a good thing. I believe God took a great evil and saw that some great good came from it. Unfortunately since we are a fallen race (humans) great ill also came from it. But the institution of slavery was and always will be a great wrong.
Your ability to comprehend must not be up to standard. You can still defend is actions against BLM without agreeing to what he said regarding slavery.
Once again, your high and mightyness avoids the truth. Make up whatever facts you wish about this subject. Everything you listed on the bad side ignores the good that did arise from slavery in this country as well as the ultimate alternative at the time. Death. Then thrown in a pot and cooked. You and fuzz seem to think this outcome was better. What a joke.
Good for him. When you say something don’t pull a Paula Dean and let the libtards break you down into a quivering mass of jelly. He said what he said and its not racist. IMO. Screw the left wing media.
Politically though I hope Larry Klaymore has had a litle talk with Cliven about staying on message. Cows, cows and cows.
Your post was the one of the most ridiculous and racist thing I’ve ever read on this site. You’re an ass.
This Just In,
Thank you. I am relieved someone else is as horrified as I am at the ignorance displayed regarding slavery.
No. He was asking an entirely different question.
He was asking which form of slavery the Black people are better off under. He didn't ask anything about feelings.
Surprising so many missed that, as he clearly said it quite a number of times.
What is racist about stating truth?
It should be quite obvious that black people are better off under the form of slavery where they are President of the United States, Attorney General of the United States, on the US Supreme Court, have 42 members of Congress, earn $33,000 a year in median household income, and have the vote.
WHat he said is stupid, but it is not “racist”. He is talking ABOUT a race, but he is not disparaging that race.
He is showing ignorance about slavery. But most people in this country are fairly ignorant about how horrible slavery was.
Heck, the democrats argue that slavery can be corrected just by paying black people some money, as if the problem with slavery was they didn’t make minimum wage.
I understand Mr. Bundy’s point. My discussion involved his current situation with the BLM and Feds, and the fact that his opinions about race/ethnicity have nothing to do with Mr. Bundy’s confrontation with authorities. Also, the MSM baited him in order to portray the rancher as an irrational individual.
Uncle Sham did not have the integrity to actually read all of my comments. My answer is perfectly clear. Go through the entire thread and read my dialog.
It’s always refreshing to see that some people understand what’s unfolding here.
“I see a FReeper who is responding to the Lefty Racism dog whistle”
Really? Well, let’s hear your detailed explanation of how this is true? Be sure to keep it in context. A number of people have spring boarded into other topics rather than sticking to the point to my comments as it pertains to the thread.
lastchance, don’t be surprised if some Freeper accuses you of “responding to the Lefty Racism dog whistle for you comments.
Apparently there are some who believe that because a person states that Mr. Bundy’s ethnicity comment-in light of current events involving the rancher-was imprudent; this amounts to “Lefty Racism dog whistle” action.
I guess that line of “logic” is akin to the “New Math” form of reasoning.
:^)
I’m glad we both understand the magnitude of slavery’s savagery and horror.
