My mother grew up in the later 1800s. I heard her say, “Blacks are okay in their place.” That is how it was then. She had no problem with blacks but did consider them in a lower class than whites. Pretty much, so did everyone else. I wasn't around blacks as schools were segregated then. I didn't know them so I was neutral about them. Mom also hated Jews as she would say, “They killed Christ.” I didn't know any Jews so I was neutral about them. I didn't accept her views about either race after I was older and met these people. I realized her opinions were from an earlier time.

Is that really any different than today's situation with near-100% illegitimacy rates?
Was the Klan any worse than today's situation when in the big-city urban plantations you can be shot dead in your sleep by some guy your next-door-neighbor pissed-off?
