Well, by dismissing Bundy as a "side issue" Perry is not showing much courage. He's essentially throwing Bundy overboard. What Perry should do is state his own position on the issue of slavery, whether he's for it or against it. Perry is probably opposed to slavery and, if so, he should have the courage to just say so without demeaning Bundy. Bundy's issues extend far beyond the issue of slavery.

Slavery is the side issue, not Bundy.

No politician is going to defend comments attributed to Bundy on blacks nor should they have to. It is a distraction and a can of worms. We need to stay on point and not be put on defense by the left.

You think Rick Perry should have stepped on that land mine? You think Perry should have made Bundy’s racist remarks the main issue instead of the Federal land grabbing going on?

It’s been more than a hundred years since there’s been slavery in this country.

Maybe the New York Times could do some investigative work and go out and TALK to blacks on welfare and disability and ASK them how they feel about their lives. And I don’t mean ‘ask a black liberal elite how they feel a black person on welfare would feel - but go OUT AND TALK TO DEPENDENT blacks.

For all we know they love it. Maybe it’s like liberals say about people who can’t get full time jobs... that there’s more time for writing poetry and painting. I’m not being sarcastic. Bundy could be totally wrong.
