Perry on Bush's 'Act of Love' Remarks: Sympathize w/Illegals who Break Laws to Help Their Families
Breitbart's Big Government ^ | April 23, 2014 | Tony Lee

Texas Gov. Rick Perry, who is being advised by a prominent pro-amnesty ally to Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg, said that he understood and sympathized with people who break the law to enter the United States illegally to take care of their families.

Appearing on Your World on Fox News with guest-host Stuart Varney Wednesday, Perry was asked how he felt about former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush's "act of love" comments about illegal immigration.

"I have sympathy. I totally understand about people breaking a law to take care of their family," Perry said, noting that that was especially the case when the United States has, in his opinion, essentially told Mexicans for 40 years, "come on over, its okay, don't worry about breaking the law."

Perry, whose poll numbers plummeted during the 2012 GOP presidential race when he said those who opposed in-state tuition for illegal immigrants did not have "a heart," said that the United States welcomed illegal immigrants for their work and then suddenly tried to send them back in the 2000s because of terrorism and the rise of violent drug cartels.

Perry also said he is seriously thinking about running for president....

Note how Cruz and Perry have absolutely nothing to say to each other.

This is the bit everyone will miss about what he said:

Perry said, noting that that was especially the case when the United States has, in his opinion, essentially told Mexicans for 40 years, “come on over, its okay, don’t worry about breaking the law.”

People do not understand that Perry has been on of the most forthright of politicians on the matter.

The problem is at the Federal level.

I double-dare Perry to go try and live in Mexico as an illegal and see what happens to him and how fast.

Indeed. It’s all about sound bytes rather than context. Perry said quite a bit in that short segment.

Heaven forbid the Perry-haters examine what he said about the BLM land grab, Bundy, or (gasp!) the 10th Amendment in that segment. Instead they’ll holler “LaRaza” & “heartless” at one of the few men who can back up his promise to make Washington inconsequential in our lives.

So be it. Flame away!

A lot of what he says I would agree with. I would have also followed it up with “And what we need to do is take away their incentive for coming here illegally. Enforce the existing laws. Stronger I.D. checks when they apply for welfare and other services that they are stealing from our poor. And make it REALLY tough on those that employ them illegally that are only concerned with larger profits.”

(See how I brought out that I am in favor of helping our poor, and am against the profit-mongers - angling for the “common man” vote!?)

He has said a lot of that, but he cannot show all his cards.

What Perry wants you to understand is that the Fed Dealer is crooked.

I do believe the only way to stem the tide of illegal Mexican immigration is to lean on the Mexican Gov to stop abusing their people.

As long as the grass is greener, they will come.

In the photo accompanying the article, it looks like the Texas governor is challenging someone to thumb-wrestle.
Maybe Governor JEB Bush and Governor Perry could thumb-wrestle to see who heads-up a GOP-e ticket.
The “Love Boat” ticket: Bienvenidos! Come aboard, we’re expecting you! Love, exciting and new ... we’ll take your votes, if the Democrats disgust you too much. Ahhh, we’re compassionate conservatives: We care about you, amigos! Now, mow our yards ...

JEB and Rick were driving through a poor part of San Antonio—a barrio actually—when Rick pulls out his Bisley Ruger .45 and shoots through the sunroof: “Stop!” he commands. So the limo stops and he and JEB walk over to a group of undocumented immigrants who appear to be grazing in a vacant lot.
JEB makes them get on their feet and asks them what they think they’re doing. A viejo shyly says, “We are so poor we are eating the grass, senor.”
Rick and JEB look about the Rocky, glass- strewn lot, at the sparse weeds and junk lying about, and they both start herding this group into their stretch limo.

“You’re coming home with us!” said Perry, “to the governor’s mansion for a good meal, at my expense!”

“Ju are too kind, gracias, gracias!” exclaimed the undocumented immigrants.

“Tut tut, think nothing of it, my friends. We’ve had some rain, the ground crews haven’t yet mowed and the grass is thick and lush.”

Okay, Perry’s dead to me too.

Nope.

Stop every single penny of welfare, HUD, AFCD, free medical, free schooling, food stamps, all of it. Nothing, nada. And then actually punish law breakers. And start sending every illegal back, when found. If they commit a crime (other than sneaking over the border), send them back in shackles. If they have committed a capital crime, execute them.

Problem solved, and it will be cheaper than what’s happening now.
