First it was concerns over whether Ukraine would 'steal' gas supplies bound for Europe as it passed through pipelines in the country and now, as bills remain unpaid, a Transneft unit is threatening to halt Ukraine oil products supply due to pipeline theft.

As Bloomberg reports, 57.9k tons of oil products have been lost from theft in Ukraine and "Transneft expresses hope that the Ukrainian authorities can evaluate the risks of the current situation and not allow a negative scenario to develop."

Look Putin and his thugs plan on retaking Ukraine. He will do whatever he has to to make that happen. Why are you shocked or surprised???
The theft has apparently been going on for several years, and now the Russians threaten to cut off the oil?
The USA has now told Germany to go for fracking...which is not in Germany.
The EU and the Ukies are all a bunch of crooks.
Maybe those Ukrainians should have thought of that before they overthrew their government.
The Putinista wing here believes that Putin has a right, even a duty, to punish the uppity Ukrainians for daring to break free of his benevolent dictatorship.
Not paying Russia for already heavily-discounted oil is “ daring to break free of his benevolent dictatorship.”??
Oh you mean the one that Putin’s puppet in it and was cracking down on his own people? You mean that government, the one that killed protestors (that had been peaceful for months in the main square) because they would not leave???
Sure thing sparky
Daniel Ivandjiiski, aka Tyler Durden, is the Alex Jones of financial bloggers. Why anyone would read his stuff is beyond comprehension.
I recommend that my fellow FReepers buy/rent/download the documentary titled “The Soviet Story.” The parallels of history are astounding between the early 30’s and today. It is not widely known, but the Russians took invaded Ukraine and they struggled to maintain control, until the food supply was confiscated and the farm fields were put under armed guard.
In the winter of 32-33, the Russians starved to death 6-7 million Ukranians.
Could the denial of energy (oil) be today’s Russian caused famine in Ukraine?
You really don’t understand communism do you???
Considering the pro-Kremlin tenor of your other posts, it doesn't surprise me that you have a problem with the Ukrainian people in general.
As for the Russkies, they've been using this as a weapon against Ukraine for years. I think right now they've raised the price by 85 percent, though I could be wrong. I recall it was a large increase.
You shouldn't play with fire. You might get burned.
Yes, just like the Chinese should think twice about toppling the communist party, or the Europeans from resisting Hitler, and so on and so forth.
I know and it bothers me greatly. I attribute it to either a libertarian Ron Paul view of the world or being so young that they have never fully understood the nature of the beast
Thanks for that name. I never knew the identity of that fellow. Would be worth doing research on him and seeing who he’s connected to. I have a suspicion that Alex Jones either works directly for Moscow or is manipulated by them. I’ve seen him parrot “news” from known Russian disinformation agents working in the Russian media.
You might want to go back to casualty before you draw out a few pictures. On your basis of logic the US would never have left England and Hitler’s army would have never faced any resistance.
Oh and since you are in Connecticut, have you turned in your guns yet? After all the government said you must
This is just Russia’s trying to set up a Reichstag Fire sort of pretext for more illicit military action.
They raised the price to the going price. The EU said they would sell their stored (or stolen) supply to the Ukraine at a nickel less.
It is not 1932.
