Is it a violation of a 16-year-old’s rights to place her in a prison with adult inmates even though she has not been charged with any crime?
Her treatment is appropriate and legal because she has “an extensive history of violence” against staffers and other residents of psychiatric facilities, according to the Connecticut Department of Children and Families.
The youth is a female transgender child who was born male but identifies as a female. In court documents she is identified as Jane Doe in order to protect her identity.
“The youth has an extensive history of violence, including targeting female staff at several programs as well as other girls in the programs,” DCF said.
The most recent violent episode, DCF stated, came at a Massachusetts residential program where the youth assaulted a female staffer, “breaking her jaw and temporarily blinding her in one eye.”
DCF described her as “uniquely dangerous, in that no other youth at the Connecticut Juvenile Training School has exhibited such a long-established pattern of assaults.”

Why has this mentally ill guy not been charged with the numerous crimes he has committed. It is certainly wrong to put him in an adult prison without charging him with a crime, but the solution is obvious - file criminal charges for these felonies.
‘She’ has not been charged with any crime solely because insane people are not legally responsible for their actions.
The critical thing here is if ‘it’ is being kept in a prison psychiatric area. If so, ‘it’ is not “in prison”, but under a higher security detention than the psychiatric facility can provide. Likely a “private room”, since such people are regarded as a “threat to themselves and others.”
However, if they have put ‘it’ in with the general population of prisoners, they are in error.

I think they are doing all this lunacy to try to get all the conservatives’ heads to explode.

It is a damn crime this violent offender is being coddled while Justina is beging treated like a criminal because one doctor disagreed with another doctor and won’t accept the possibility of a second opinion....

This young person has had a truly horrible life. I would suggest that all read the linked article. Truly horrendous “up-bringing! I have no idea how to take care of this situation. But prison does not seem right. The kid is really messed-up, because of this;

“I was placed in DCF custody because my father was incarcerated and my mother was using heroin, crack, alcohol and possibly other drugs,” the girl wrote.
“While in DCF custody, I have suffered immensely,” she added. “I feel that DCF has failed to protect me from harm and I am now thrown into prison because they have refused to help me.”

I refuse to read an article where the authors further enable and thus exacerbates the problem by referring to the subject by it’s chosen gender. All the hormones, surgery, and far left, whack-doodle, liberalism, cannot not this male of his Y chromosome. Period. Full stop. Game over.
I’m not talking about the “Gender confusion” thing. But I think that the child’s upbringing has caused it.

For a young boy that means anal rape, over and over. The kid’s life has twisted his brain. I think he needs very significant psychiatric treatment, which is very unlikely in prison.
He needs to be in an adult male prison, not a girls school. Bubba and friends will make him feel like a girl, if that is what he needs to be happy.
Send him to the fruit farm.

Right there is your problem. You are allowing him to call the shots and control the situation.
No such thing as a transgender anything. You are either male female or ill. Those are the only three choices.......
Point taken. Whatever HIS issue is, compounding it by demanding to be addressed as a female and getting locked up with females is not the right approach. Beating up female guards is not a good way to stay out of prison, or gain sympathy from sane individuals.
Give HIM one more chance at foster care or a BOYs school, and have him lose the female gender, attention grabbing shtick.

I agree that putting him with girls or women is a bad idea. He needs intense psychiatric care, as a man.
