The eighth underwater drone mission to search for the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 has failed to find any evidence of plane wreckage on the sea bed.
The Bluefin-21 submarine employed for the task has so far screened over two-thirds of the narrowed search area.
The underwater hunt is expected to finish within this week,
Since its fourth mission, the submarine was reprogrammed to scour the seas 604 feet below its permissible limit of 14,800 feet. The part of the Indian Ocean narrowed down for the search is deeper than the previously estimated range at some places,
"The [underwater drone] reached a record depth of 4,695 metres [15,404 feet]... Diving to such depths does carry with it some residual risk
Meanwhile, the oil slick discovered near the search area by ADV Ocean Shield turned out to be unrelated to the missing Malaysian jet, as it was later confirmed that it was not hydraulic fluid from aircraft engine.

From the article:
On the 5th and 8th of April, four distinct underwater pings were detected, which were nearly consistent with black box signals. But most of the leads in the past six-week search operations turned out to be false subsequently.
Sounds like doubt to me.

My personal opinion is that the airplane was never in that area. Something fishy happened and they are doing a coverup. The signals were miraculously picked up a couple of days before the batteries go dead in an area that they miraculously picked out defies logic.

Even though I hoped I was wrong and that it would be found in that watery grave, I've not believed that was its location.

I assume they are. Until it’s found, I’m betting extra scrutiny for any airliner approaching their airspace.

I think the Intel agencies know where the bird is, or was.
The fate of the passengers at the hands of those who commandeered the airplane might be so horrific there would be call for war, if the public knew.

They thought they knew where Titanic was. For 73 years after her sinking they couldn't find the site.

My first choice is that it got shot down when it appeared to be illegally approaching someone’s air space, and they are simply not going to admit it, and no one else is going to try to find such a thing out.

Well gee could that be because the plane was NEVER down there
To: PhiloBedo
there is a very nice airport in southern Pakistan with several dispersed hangers. It sits away from any population center.....

Could be, but why?
I keep asking myself, “Why would Pakistan that has lots of aircraft hijack an aircraft?”
