The Kremlin’s persecution of non-Orthodox churches is actually quite wide spread. Rudeboy was only providing one particular example, with one particular pretext. Pentecostals, baptists, and other churches, are being persecuted in Russia. The same is occuring in Crimea, wherein Catholic Priests have been abducted, intimidated, released, and then charged with silly crimes.

You make a very good and interesting point. Too many here seem to think Putin stands up for Christianity as if he stands for all Christians. Part of the deal is he supports the Russian Orthodox Church and they support his Russian chauvinism. They don’t criticize his stealing from the Russian people, which has made him one of the richest men in the world. It’s more like a criminal conspiracy that the gangster statesman Putin has pulled off than a sincere commitment to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ.
