As the saying goes, nature abhors a vacuum. With the West declaring all-out war on traditional morality, it’s all too easy for the Russians to step in and pick up the mantle of the other side.
I'm of the opinion, right or wrong, that this is why Russia is a rising nation and the entire West is in decline.
Putin may yet have his revenge for the fall of the Soviet Empire.
And, I don't think it's all cynical on the part of Russia. I've met a lot of Russian immigrants in CA and they are uniformly religious. And, they value and preserve their culture.
Russia is not just going to surrender 1500 years of shared cultural experience and yield to historically flawed and destructive foreign cultural influences.
Especially after 70 years in the wilderness.

Quite frankly, I’m glad someone is doing it.
Well... the other side says there’s a “Republican War on Women”.
I say there’s a “Democrat War On Christianity” and a “Democrat War On America and American Values”.
