a good place to die

10 Harrowing Stories Of Life And Death On Mount Everest

I have to imagine their last thoughts would not reflect that sentiment.

The events in the eye witness accounts from "Into Thin Air" relate a story where one of the stranded climbers was repeating "I don't want to die, I don't want to die".

It breaks my heart to think of it. That is how I see death on Everest.

Quote: "We tried to keep warm by pummeling each other," Weathers remembers. "Someone yelled at us to keep moving our arms and legs. Sandy was hysterical; she kept yeuing over and over, 'I don't want to die! I don't want to die!' But nobody else was saying a whole lot."
