President Barack Obama ventured Wednesday to a mostly blue-collar region of the United States and tried to engage an audience that was cold to him.
The 15 community college students who were picked to stand immediately behind the president, and in view of the TV cameras, mostly stood stone-faced through his speech.
At the end, when the president walked back from the podium to smile and wave at the roughly 60 people in the bleachers 20 feet behind him, he faced a unfriendly wall of faces.
The White House video of the bleacher’s front rank shows three men with their hands crossed, one with his hands stuck in his pockets and one who let his arms fall by his sides.
Obama flew to the Community College of Allegheny County, in Oakdale, Pa., so he could tout a new spending program that is intended to encourage technical training at community colleges.
Oakdale is a suburb of Pittsburgh, and is part of the 18th Congressional District, now held by Republican Tim Murphy. Oakdale’s population is roughly 1,500, down from roughly 2,000 in 1980.
Obama usually speaks at universities and colleges that contain supportive young people where attendees cry out “I love you!”
A January poll of registered Pennsylvanian voters by the Center for Opinion Research at Franklin & Marshall College showed that only 30 percent rated his performance at “good” or “excellent.”

The Blaze is even worse.
When the first Ft Hood shooting happened, my family went in ‘spite’ of him. We sat, stonewalled, as he spoke, and did our best to focus on the dead, the injured, and the families.
It was difficult.
Up close, the guy is just plain unlikeable. Supercilious, with a stare that looks through rather than at people, and what is pretty obvious, totally unable to engage in a give-and-take conversation. If it is not scripted, he cannot even focus his thoughts enough to provide an honest debate.
But Harry Reid thinks the Current Occupant is “clean...articulate...light-skinned and no Negro dialect”.
Of course there is “no Negro dialect”. We have been advised that the Current Occupant is “not authentic or down for the struggle”, this from Al Sharpton, a true authority on the matter.
Obama would be a good entry in “Extraordinary Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds.”
...I bailed on the FIRST page. I’d LIKE to see it but - It just isn’t worth it.

my very Conservative daughter graduated from CCAC and she modeled for a billboard for them that was posted around the Pittsburgh area….glad the youth didn’t kiss his butt there today..every day I dislike him more and more.

College kids are learning that there are fewer and fewer jobs for them after graduation. They are learning that “hopey changey” doesn’t pay the rent. They have seen their friends who have already graduated move back to mom and dad’s.....
College kids may be slow learners when it comes to politics but they seem to be finally learning the lesson when it comes to Zero.
(My fear is that the new crop of college kids who will be in school in 2016 will have been brainwashed too long by the progressive policies loving teacher’s unions.....)
