Back from work all ready?
Ol' Hand Washer merely listened to evidence, and PARSED it according to HIS world view.
The ACCUSERS parsed it with theirs.
....and 29 and 21 and 22 and 23? I felt for the thought I was conveying...the 2 verses were enough. The three together would make the great basis for an entire sermon or homily however. Maybe I’ll work that up someday?!...(thought for the future)
Me; too.
Eighteen is for the 'good' folks among us.
The ones who think that as long as they are not 'REALLY' bad; they will not go to Hell.
Jesus kinda kicks that notion to the curb.
Getting close to what? What are you talking about?.... I don’t appreciate being played and this appears to be what you’re doing....
You asked I gave you what I had I thought was significant....so what’s this “Now you’re getting close? stuff you’re putting out there??? Do clarify...
Oh, in some areas they are definitely being castigated. But the passage is still about Israel being the servant of God, intended to stand as an example to the rest of the world. He makes promises for them if they obey, rails threats for when they don't... but yes, the whole passage, taken together, is about Israel.
He definitely managed to get killed, yes. But he was clearly trying to avoid it when he was evasive before Pilate.
I think it's worth it to ask yourself why, if Jesus rose again, he didn't simply appear before his enemies and show them. If the point was to show that he could triumph over death, he only showed it to the ones who already believed in him. There's no point in that.
Why do YOU think that is so?
Because Jesus carefully avoided incriminating himself, because he did not want to be executed. As I've said about 10 times now.
At any rate google it and you'll find much from the Jewish perspective on what requirements needed to be met .....but do keep in mind most then didn't know what those were for the most part...mostly the religious teachers.
But I think we're pretty much done here....you're going in circles, though no doubt you'll say otherwise.......but there are too many times you are given the answers to what you seek only to then say you meant something else, or those on the thread don't understand what your asking....or you re-frame your question til it's lost in translation....when in fact it looks an awful lot like you're the one who needs to think through your questions and then remain on point..... .
Even the posters statement has been repeated..that someone must be able to understand .....I think the poster needs to understand their own questions...lots of circular comments all meaning the same thing, that there’s nobody who understands...LOL which is really the poster doesn’t understand their own questions.
Strange...
I don't find this to be the fact at all.
There you go again.
Speculating IF when many people claimed to have seen Him afterward.
I do not know why you refuse to listen to them.
This is what you claim happened; but WHY do YOU think He did not want to be executed?
She understands her questions; but she doesn’t understand our ANSWERS!
And the reason you've had to repeat that statement is because you've been show why that is a lie many times, further what the truth is... but you reject that and therefore remain in denial. Therefore your questions continue in circles and repetition off.

The most easily identifiable signs of the Messiah that appear in the Old Testament and don't require the New Testament to illuminate are that the Messiah must be born in Bethlehem, must be descended from King David, but cannot be from Solomon.
I think I have been very clear, but people have been giving me the answers they think I need, not the ones I want.
My questions are and always were: Why did Jesus' followers think he was the Messiah, and what was their understanding of that role.
