Nevada ranching family claims victory as government releases cattle (excellent reporting)

BUNKERVILLE, Nevada (Reuters) - U.S. officials ended a stand-off with hundreds of armed protesters in the Nevada desert on Saturday, calling off the government's roundup of cattle it said were illegally grazing on federal land and giving about 300 animals back to the rancher who owned them.

The dispute less than 80 miles northeast of Las Vegas between rancher Cliven Bundy and the U.S. Bureau of Land Management had simmered for days. Bundy had stopped paying fees for grazing his cattle on the government land and officials said he had ignored court orders.

Anti-government groups, right-wing politicians and gun-rights activists camped around Bundy's ranch to support him in a standoff that tapped into long-simmering anger in Nevada and other Western states, where vast tracts of land are owned and governed by federal agencies.

So I’d get some desert-hardened cows. It’s the cows putting in the labor to find their food there, not the farmers. And regardless of the original rationale—lessors generally get to set the terms—it’s an unreal deal.

Actually it was sarcasm aimed specifically at libtards that state our favorite rancher is breaking the law. Guess I should have tagged it. Holder thinks he is above the law as does most of this administration. And at present the dims in the senate will protect anyone on their side from impeachment proceedings, so presently they are correct.

They must not be fed.

They are the ultimate in leftwing dietary meat. They are free range cattle, no injurious genetically modified, chemical enhanced ingestion. They are pure and wholesome.

Let’s do the math...if the FEDS spent about 20 Million dollars and the rancher owed 1 million dollars in back grazing fees, it appears to me they could have paid his grazing rights for maintaining roads, water ways, grasslands, etc for 20 years (while they used other ranchers fees to buy more ranches) on the public lands BLM was supposed to maintain....BLM could have saved the other 19 million. Oy Vey!

Most of what urban areas look down their noses at flyover country for, they could not last a day without.

I agree! I’m really proud of the job people did here and at the Bundy Ranch!

As Ben Franklin once said, “We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately.”

It was chock full of bias

It down graded to 300 the widely reported number of 400 cattle seized.

It failed to mention that the camo clothing is the uniform of United Mine workers that terrorised South West Virginia under the direct orders of Richard Trumka.

true, but i meant the people they herd into the high density corridors the RATS love so much... without the people like us living in the boondocks they'd all starve!

wait, maybe not, all they have to do is goto the store and buy meat and stuff, after all, they think that's where it comes from... 8^)

The reason for the DHS being involved is because of the new ‘info’ chips in your driver’s license. This happened in my state and many others. Texas may not have it yet.

Previously, you went to renew your license, they took your picture and in minutes created your new license.

Now, they just take your picture and send it and ALL your information to DHS where they imbed the ‘chip’ and make your new license.

from site....mentions FR

http://www.infowars.com/breaking-sen-harry-reid-behind-blm-land-grab-of-bundy-ranch/

Deleted from BLM.gov but reposted for posterity by the Free Republic, the BLM document entitled “Cattle Trespass Impacts” directly states that Bundy’s cattle “impacts” solar development, more specifically the construction of “utility-scale solar power generation facilities” on “public lands.”
