Boston police rush to help as 6 attacks unfold

Police rushed around downtown Boston Wednesday night, responding to calls for help after a group of up to 20 males and females launched at least six unprovoked attacks on people on Boston Common and in the neighborhood, police said.

In the past few weeks, Boston has had a 9-alarm fire (2 dead firefighters), an 8-alarm fire, now these 6 unprovoked attacks, and the anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombing is just a few days away.

I'm thinking our first responders may be on edge. Who wouldn't be? I wouldn't be surprised if something goes horribly wrong around here.

I have a friend who lives in the Boston area. He sent me a newspaper column in which a white male was the attacker. The noticeable part of the article was that the two opening paragraphs — emphasis: not one but two — said “The white male...” I kid you not.

On November 1, 2013, Goetz was arrested for allegedly selling $30 worth of marijuana to an undercover female NYPD officer in Union Square. At a December 18, 2013 court appearance he rejected a 10 day community service plea, stating "Either dismiss it, or let's take it to trial and let a jury decide". Outside court Goetz said he offered the undercover female officer the marijuana three times for free but she insisted on paying for it, and that he thought the arresting officer was trying to get him to punch him to escalate the case. At a February 20, 2014 court appearance Goetz again rejected a 10 day community service plea and called on Mayor de Blasio, among other things, to stop all marijuana arrests in NYC for a few months.
