AND NOW . . . amidst billowing clouds of fragrant, aromatic first- and second-hand premium cigar smoke. . . it is time for . . . that harmless, lovable little fuzz ball, the highly-trained broadcast specialist, having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have, from behind the golden EIB microphone, firmly ensconced in the prestigious Attila-the-Hun chair at the Limbaugh Institute of Advanced Conservative Studies, serving humanity simply by showing up, and hes not retiring until every American agrees with him, do NOT doubt him, with shrieks of joy at the mere mention of his name (thats Rush, for those in Rio Linda),the Mandarin of Talk Radio, with talent on loan from G-d, at the cutting-edge of societal evolution, with half his brain tied behind his back just to make it fair, the all-knowing, all-caring, all-sensing, all-feeling, all-concerned Maha-Rushie! Americas anchorman, truth detector, and doctor of democracy. A Real Man, a living legend, a way of life. Commander in Chief of U.S. Operation Chaos. Chief Waga-Waga El Rushbo of the El Conservo Tribe. Chief of the Patriotism Police. Leader of the Conservative Movement. A Weapon of Mass Instruction. El Rushbo (a little Spanish lingo, there). He is the man who is running America (you know it and I know it). He knows the Democrats like every square inch of his glorious naked body. He is ready to do what he was born to dothats host. Get ready to what you were born to dothats listen (and post your comments on the Rush Limbaugh LIVE Radio Thread).
Thanks; he’s doing fine, decorated WWII Vet, D-Day, European Campaign, Battle of The Bulge, and could kick my butt.
I thank him for his service to the USA.
It’ll just become more of a maintenance problem as the years go by; best to deal with it now. I can see the fungus on the flowers and leaf burn, from the rough winter, on the 2nd pic you posted. It won’t transplant. Either resign yourself to feed it heavily (Holly Tone fertilizer) in late fall, and prune judiciously to keep away from house and gutters, or take it out.
Christmas '13 dinner at my condo.
Won’t a spray solution of soap and water wipe out the fungus?
Depends upon the fungus. Some virii winter-over in the dead debris collecting underneath the plant; others are systemic and are ingrained in the plant, so they need a systemic chemical to deal with the fungus.
All debris should be cleaned-up from under the tree, affected blossoms removed asap, and disposed of, and plant treated after disease is ID’d.
Camellias have a lot of disease and insect problems, especially in the south where cold doesn’t kill the bugs and disease. Up north, cold winters take care of bugs and disease.

The soap and water treatment usually works well on live insects, but not on diseases.
Neem oil sometimes works:

First call of the day which was supposedly devoted to raising money for leukemia research and it is about his book. Wow! What self-absorption.
As for you and your continued shallow comments without any discussion, I'm surprised you can see anything with your head so far Rush's rear end.
Can you tell me what I need to tell my landscaper as far as what sprays I need?
kiss my ass G spot
Rush's first children's book was published on October 29, 2013.
So, by your logic, Rush couldn't of have made a donation that large before then? Get real!
He needs to ID the fungus in the flowers, and beyond simple winter burn, if the leaves have any problems, and then refer to the chemical chart at the bottom of this page:
http://www.clemson.edu/extension/hgic/pests/plant_pests/shrubs/hgic2053.html
Without having actual flowers and leaves in-hand, I can’t tell specifically what the fungus is. A simple fungicide, like Captan or Mancozeb, in early spring, summer & fall, may fix it, but he needs to ID it. Clean out under the plant, cut-off all black/brown flowers or affected/discolored/misshapen buds, and apply fungicide.
Leaves just look like winter burn (brownish areas), but again, without having both leaves and flowers in-hand, I can’t ID the problem(s) from web pics.
The fungus could also be due to simple weather conditions: wet, cold can trigger fungal spores, and the Captan or Mancozeb might do it.
Also, if there’s a university nearby with an agricultural school, they may have an extension office where you/your lscp-er could take a few affected flowers and leaves, and get an opinion. Penn State has ag extension offices and lab services available statewide for PA, and I’ve used them in the past.
Are you near this place?
Thanks.
no
my logic is that successful people like rush find a way to make big money so they can make big donations
maybe your time would be better spent making big money rather than complaining about such a minor inconvenience
It is not a minor inconvenience to me. It was inappropriate for him to piggyback humping his book into a show that was dedicated to raising money for leukemia research. And, it was supposed to be open-line Friday to boot.
To my eye (ear), it was pure self-promotion. Nothing more, nothing less. I thought Rush was better than that.
