Former Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour joined Democratic Party rising star San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro in Texas, this week to call for amnesty.
"Its not dead, Barbour said of amnesty efforts in the U.S. Congress, according to the Texas Tribune. "Work is being done on this. I cant look you in the eye and say I know its going to succeed, but there is clearly a path to success.
Barbour argued that amnesty would be good for the country and the only reason why Republicans are not supporting it is because it is politically dangerous for them to do so.
"What the Republicans need to do is not worry about the politics," he said. "They need to do whats good policy for the country."
Barbour appeared side-by-side with Castro at the Civil Rights Summit in Austin. Castro said that when the GOP primaries in the House are over, it may get easier for Republicans under the leadership of Speaker John Boehner and Majority Leader Eric Cantor to grant amnesty to illegal aliens. That may make it easier, Castro said of the passing of the primaries.
Barbours decision to appear in public with a Democrat pushing for amnesty comes as one of his top allies in Congress, incumbent Sen. Thad Cochran (R-MS), is struggling against surging primary challenger conservative state Sen. Chris McDaniel. Barbour himself, and most of his family members and other allies, are working overtime in Mississippi to try to the six-term Cochran, who is seeking a seventh term.
Despite claims from Cochrans re-election campaign that he has always voted against amnesty, a fact check from Breitbart News found Cochran has made several votes that favored amnesty for illegal aliens.
McDaniel is strongly against amnesty, having said numerous times in interviews including with Breitbart News that he opposes amnesty.

They're all allied! Chris McDaniel for Senate!!
Looks like Haley’s business and political pundit partnerships with Terry McCauliffe are paying off to well to stand for principles, but then again all GOPe insiders are all the same.
Good GRIEF! What are these RINOs smoking, anyway?!?!
The Bob Dole Pubbies are losers.

Barbour selling us out for Mark Zuckerberg’s thirty pieces of silver.
So, fat man, how do you reconcile those two assertions?
FUHB.
I thought Governor Barbour was for America and Mississippi first but apparently he is for the Barbour lobbying firm first as is his minion Senator Thad Cochran.
Amnesty and illegal immigrants are government growth hormones.

This whole LBJ civil rights “conference” has a “we shall overcome” meme to it from the UNIPARTY. The question is, overcome what?
Haley Barbour has been a puppet of the elite since before Clinton.
Haley is one of the hardest working conservatives. How nasty people on the right have become, when they are losing.

it is mean and nasty to back amnesty
I think I’m being more factual than “mean and nasty” and I don’t know that “I’m losing”. The Barbour firm depends on legislators voting to spend money Senator Cochran has certainly been voting to spend money and is receiving the Governor’s support. I have voted for both Governor Barbour and Senator Cochran in the past. I believe excessive spending, growing government and amnesty are three issues we cannot overlook and go back to what someone has done in the past and support either them or their candidate. Any of these issues will destroy the Republic. If you believe me to be “mean and nasty” so be it, but it appears to me that Governor Barbour is putting something before his state and country and possibly you should look at Senator Cochran’s voting record.
Damn workerbee, give me something difficult. They are smoking $$$ and Power! But, you already knew that, didn't you?
Just remember folks, when you see your fellow freepers telling you that you MUST vote GOP “NO MATTER WHAT”...This is “What” you get more of.
Remember those people. Because they will be knifing your political back come November.
