Well it was their fault for driving a vehicle the MPs thought was stolen. Next time they should make sure their vehicle isn’t on the list.
I spent 10 years in the Air Force. The base police did not instill confidence.
But his was a high-risk traffic stop!
Notice how it gets repeated.
Yeah, two kids and two women, one a senior citizen.
It is up to the originating agency to up date and remove any erroneous files.
The base police should have report the error to the entering agency.
It took 90 minutes to look at the registration, re-run the plates, and compare to the drivers’ licenses?
This makes not one bit of sense. It is self contradictory.
How to you clarify an initial report with a 'courtesy stop' yet blame that same 'report' as the reason these people were handcuffed and detained?
The fact is that if there had not been an erroneous report, there would have been no reason to stop them in the first place. They apparently learned from the best: Obama.
I once watched them detain a guy in a secure area for having lost his badge. He was about halfway down a 30 ft hallway, kneeling with his hands behind his head.
The air force police were on either end of the hallway guns drawn, pointing at him and incidentally at each other. They were arguing with each other over what to do. One cop would give an instruction and then the other would countermand. The guy in the middle eventually told them to get their f*&!@ act together.
I believe they open at 8am 7 days a week, not sure what time they close, and it's free.
These cops are auditioning for jobs with the ATF storm troopers
ditto the museum of Naval Aviation in Pensacola
Well there is one place the armed forces are actually allowed to carry arms...and unfortunately use them against unarmed women and children.
I guess if it’s a man shooting a real gun, then they will “shelter in place”?
Just part of the desensitization of ‘civilians’ (and LEOs) to brutal treatment of innocents.
We visited the museum last summer. The volunteer selling the tickets gave us a rundown on what to look for and see. I asked him if the alien’s remains ere on display.
With out missing a beat he said “I ‘m sorry sir but that display is still classified. “
Maybe you should be sure to arrive on foot! (sarc/off)
With the proliferation of automatic license plate readers, we can expect incidents like this to become a common occurrence.

two women and a couple kids is enough to scare the Chair Force?

Wait a minute... You can't click through to the article because the link isn't posted. Well, we can fix that.
Air Force Apologizes to Family after Traffic Stop
the initial report was that the van was cruising the parking lot and looking at all the cars in a suspicious manner. It turns out the family was looking at all of the out-of-state license plates. When the MPs ran the license plate after the initial report, it came up as stolen.
The police response, given that information, was appropriate.
