I do recall Abbott jumping the gun before. Thought he would avoid it in future.

BTW, Malaysia just implied they will be in control of the black box investigation... I hope they let Aussies or US or Uk etc work them.

They always end up crawling to the NTSB or some other Western/Euro agency. We’re the only ones who can do it.

His statements of 3/19 are inexplicable to me. There was nothing “reasonable” or “certain” about the common debris that was spotted that day. Yet the PM went out of his way to oversell the finding so much that it completely moved the search area to an entirely different area, where it has remained since Abbott’s original announcement (the Immersat data wasn’t produced until five days later). Abbott single handedly brought the search to the South Indian Ocean on the basis of two aerial photos of debris that turned out to be nothing.

And now, miracle of miracles, it turns out he was accidentally correct.

Until I see the plane, I’m not buying it.
