Twenty-one were stabbed in a Pennsylvania school rampage Wednesday, but all are expected to liveand one even took a selfie. Think how different the toll would have been with bullets.
The dead take no selfies.
So there might well never have been the remarkable selfie that 16-year-old Nate Scimio took after his heroism at Franklin Regional High School if he had faced a gun rather than two knives on Wednesday morning.
In all, Scimio and 19 other students, along with one staff member, were stabbed when a sophomore allegedly stormed through the school in Murrysville, Pennsylvania. Three students were critically injured.
One, a girl, was saved from bleeding to death when a classmate kept paper towels pressed against her wound. Another, a 17-year-old boy, was stabbed with such savagery that the wound in his abdomen was 2 inches wide and extended almost to his spine. The blade pierced his liver and diaphragm, missing his heart and aorta by a fraction of an inch. He was on life support after emergency surgery, but doctors remained hopeful he would survive.
And, as of the end of the day, none of the 21 victims had died.....

Oh yeah.
It is about terrorism over there.
That is why they keep them disarmed.
I think the most effective weapon in real close just might be one of those old battle aexs, especially the ones which also have a point. Do they call them a halyard?
I think halyard is correct.
But halyards are for distance.
I guess what I am thinking of is a double bladed axe with the top blade high enough to cut if you used the axe to poke rather than swing.
I have read that the Russian elite troops love their short shovels sharpened. That would be a vicious weapon.
Common sense tells me that even if the gun grabbers were to eliminate guns, they will never eliminate the ways to kill ones fellow human being.
Given that anyone with an ounce of common sense knows that one can kill with other things besides guns, why do these politicians push their gun grabbing agenda? Is it, perhaps, part of an overall Alinsky tactic to demonize conservatives?
If I recall correctly, halyards are like pole axes that are meant for use on horse, but I am no expert on medieval stuff, maybe I am thinking of a pole axe.
Palestinians are still using rocks, much to the lefts cheers.
Hey maybe the idiot who wrote this should be stabbed and see how he enjoys it..maybe just maybe if someone in the school had a gun the student wouldn’t have been able to stab 24 people
If he had attacked a kindergarten class rather than a high school there would have been as many dead as there were at Sandy Hook.
Regardless, if the teachers had been armed then he wouldn’t have stabbed more than a couple of students before he would have been dropped.
My 1st grade teacher’s ruler or principal’s heavy paddle might’ve stopped him.
These schools are all paddle free zones these days.
Just out of curiosity, did this creep yell out Alluah Akbar during these attacks?
The author is a blithering idiot. Everyone here knows why.
Those who are relieved the student didn’t have a gun need to watch “Surviving Edged Weapons” (Calibre Press, maybe on You Tube). Saw it years ago during trainings and never forgot it.
What if the kid infected the knives with HIV before the attack? I wonder how the media would react.
The weapon is a halberd. Halyard is a nautical term.
What is most disappointing are the number of people that couldn’t instantly tell the difference.
These people are nuts. We got a Rwandan massacre with knives and they credit disarmament.
He forgot that a big person with a knife never runs out of ammo nor jams.
