Don’t let a Dem win. Even a bad GOPer is better than any Dem and can actually be controlled. Numbers are power, and we need to get more numbers.
That’s your problem right there. You think progressive Republicans are representing us. They aren’t. They don’t give a damn about any of us on Main Street. They will happily sell us down the river as long as their big donors get a cut of the pie.
Self-interest is the most important thing to any politician. However, they all have an interest in staying in office, getting committee appointments, etc. and to do this, they must adhere to the party line at least on certain major things.
Not one single Republican Senator voted for Obamacare. If we had had more Republicans - enough to have a majority - we wouldn’t have Obamacare now.
