They haven’t said that. I was tempted to ask my son (when he texted to see if any victims names had been released—he has soccer friends there) what his FB password is so I could read what kids are reporting (again he has friends there) I don’t have an acct anymore. I didn’t want to though. He (and fellow soccer players) worried about their friends. Don’t know if our HS has made any announcement to student body.

Oh. Seriously?” Minutes later, the on-air personality Tweeted, “I’m a little sick now.”

I’ve gone thru Twitter. No...that is NOT the last name. On twitter SAME name mentioned over and over (I WILL NOT POST IT!) but the theme I see is that NO ONE REALLY KNOWS this kid.
Names of victims (who they saw on stretchers) mentioned as well. None that I recognize.
No actor has been used instead of perp by local news. I have just been texting what I hear.

My mom just texted me about the girl who applied pressure and saved a life. Geez....she went to school today probably thinking of tests or homework or friends ...and she had he presence of mind to save a life. Prayers for you and your son, PaMom. I lost a friend in high school.

In England they banned the sale or advertising for sale of “Combat Knives”, and banned carrying ANY knife except under certain conditions, like being a carpenter on the job (not driving home) or having just bought a knife for the kitchen and transporting it home in the closed box the store gives you.
They could do that here!

They just showed the perp, in the back of a police car. He looks so damn young. Like a little boy. I went on Twitter for a while. The same kid’s name mentioned over and over. But kids asking other “do you know him?” Everyone “no.” The quintessential loner?
One really bright spot. A boy Instagrammed (and it was retweeted over and over) a selfie from hospital. He’s in hosp gown pointing to his arm. He’s probably a minor so I don’t want to post him here.
I have heard the term “bad actor”and I know it has nothing to do with the stage but........ I am still not certain if this was a “student of the school” or someone “acting like a student” or just a bad guy. ????

I was in theater in HS and we had several kids who were mentally off. One shaved off his eyebrows on opening night. The media will run with the “mental illness” angle because there is money in it. I wouldn’t be shocked if it was an Aspie like Newtown.
It is confirmed a 16 year old male student. Small stature from look of kid in police car. Same name keeps being mentioned on Twitter. FR students asking each other “do you know him?” And the answers were a consistent “no.” The loner pattern.
I am hard pressed to remember one of these high school student attacks where the perp wasn’t white, and some level of middle class.
The latest reports indicate the perp knew what he was doing. Aimed for the lower right quadrant.
That’s a killing zone.
The presser at Forbes Regional, that’s what Dr. Rubino said. Dr. Rubino is a OB/Gyne and he said many of the mothers are his patients and he may have delivered some of those kids. Dr. Kaufman, the Chief Trauma surgeon at Forbes Regional had confirmed the lower quadrant deep stab wounds.
Also, Dr. Rubino was quite correct. Our area is cut up by bridges and tunnels. Having MANY local Trauma Units is necessary. Sad part and back story is that the “parent” company of Forbes Regional is the Allegheny Health system...and for insurance reasons, has been battling the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center over coverage-payment issues. Hopefully seeing how everyone worked together will make the administrators on both side see mutual need.
