So you think all that you suggested will let Russia back down? Your kidding. The point is, in both instances, they were over matched by superior military but their will, determination and guile made them overcome that. Same applies today. All that you suggested does not guarantee victory, as Russia may be inferior to the US militarily but they sure ain't no mouse and can handle themselves competently. If we were to do what you suggest that would sure start WW3 and then we all lose.

Ukraine's a comfortable diversion for Putin as he seals oil deals with China and around the world...opens gold mines, and fracking ahead in Siberia....how come Putin gets all these things done and we sit here watching Obama on the golf course or off on vacation......and our politicians, like McCain, over in Ukraine, in Egypt, Israel etc nosing in on their turf instead of improving our country!

"Stalin was from Georgia, Kruschev was from the Ukraine. They have been part of Russia for centuries. We should recognize this. Pull NATO out of east Europe, and stop our 25 yr shad en war against the new democratic Russia just so the world can seize and plunder their resources. The events of the last 24 hours also, again, raise questions. We will need to see as more facts come to light. It seems strangely coincidental that these activities all took place in different parts of Ukraine on the same afternoon. There are reports on social media this morning about how “pro-Russian residents” of Kharkiv stormed the Opera, thinking that it was the town hall, and demanded that the mayor come out.

It’s very surprising that these so-called “residents” of Kharkiv would think that the Opera was the town hall.
