True story:

When my nephew was in elementary, he would not eat school lunches. Thus, my sister had to make his lunch. All he would eat was a lettuce and mustard sandwich — bread slice, mustard, leaf of lettuce, mustard, bread slice. No meat and no other add-ons. That was it. That was all he would eat.

At the beginning of each new school year, my sister would have to make a trip to the school and explain to his teachers that she was NOT punishing nor depriving him.

He finally grew out of that by junior high.

Was his name Mr. Hood by any chance? He only ate a lettuce sandwich on gluten bread.

I believe you! Glad your nephew grew out of that...I know adults who never have. Boggles the mind.
