Representative Jim Moran (D-Va.) said on Monday that the $174,000 salary a member of Congress makes is not sufficient to live in the District of Columbia, even as he introduced legislation last month to raise the pay for federal workers by 3.3%an increase that would provide a salary 114% less than the average made by lawmakers.

The truth is that most of congress, from both parties, would vote themselves a raise if the opportunity presents itself. They’re all frauds.
Ditto on that ... time to start building guillotines 24/7!
I don’t want to live to see what this country is going to become. But I would love to live long enough to see those guillotines actually being put to good use.
Back in ‘86 the critters fixed it so they didn’t have to vote. Raises were made automatic. That relieved them from the indignity of voting themselves more money, but the amount was set. So Moron and others just want greater automatic raises.
It’s enough to make a crow blush.
I will give this a hardy second. It would not only be cheaper, it would make them more accountable. It’s hard to look a guy in the eye and tell him you are underpaid when he is supporting a wife and two kids on $30,000.00 or less,
Teresa...I bet she’s glad he’s never home!
