Coulter: Mitt Romney in 2016; "Cruz A Disaster On Illegal Immigration"
Real Clear Politics ^ | 4/3/2014 | Staff

HOWIE CARR, HOST: Who are you for, for president right now, Ann?

ANN COULTER: Well, don't tell him but I'm planning on giving Mitt Romney a little more time to rest -- flying out, kidnapping him and depriving him of sleep, food and water until he agrees to run again.

CARR: You're kidding?

COULTER: No.

CARR: You really want him to run again?

COULTER: Yeah, I think he was a fantastic candidate. As I've told you before, he would have won by a larger landslide than Ronald Reagan did in 1980 without Teddy Kennedy's immigration bill. And it's basically impossible to beat an incumbent, but he is head and shoulders better than the other candidates we had. And I don't want to name them, but I mean you go through the list -- and for one thing, as you and I discussed, and this is the most important point, that all of your listeners have to tell all of their friends knock it off with the Congressmen or inspirational figures. It's got to be a Governor or a Senator, preferably a Governor. And, you know, there is a limited world -- a list of who those people are, and they all have problems. None of them are articulate and reasonable, and as good on immigration as Mitt Romney! CARR: What about Ted Cruz?

COULTER: Well, he's a lot worse on immigration.

CARR: Is he that bad? I didn't think he was that bad on immigration.

COULTER: Well, most Republicans are, that's why you need to call your Congressman. I'm not singling out Ted Cruz, he has the same position a lot of these idiots have. 'Oh yes, let them come here and we have a special permit, we just won't give them citizenship. But we want to increase ...

"even TWO years later..."

Like I said, I'm NOT a Romney supporter. But it would be helpful for me in future debate if you could cite a reference for the above...you, know, help a brother out!

Here in TN we can stipulate on a contract that no illegal aliens work on our property..that all workers be legally able to work in the US..

Personally when my house was built, when I added a sun room, and a new deck and got a new roof due to tornado damage...I made sure I met and spoke to every man who came on my property..

I had a talk with the bosses before hand..

Yes my roof was paid for by insurance...

but its my property..

I wont break the law just because Willard does...

> “You seem to COMPLETELY write-off the demographic effect of this. Like it or not, this country is about 50/50 Dem/Republican. Throw in 30,000,000 people from the Third world, WHO WILL HAVE KIDS, and the country becomes 60/40 Democrat, with NO HOPE of having any meaningful opposition.”

Is there some reason you need to be so crazy?

WHERE IS CRUZ SAYING HE WILL ALLOW 30,000,000 TO ENTER THE USA?

How about toning it down apiece and writing something worth digesting? I couldn’t get past the first few sentences of your insane rant. Now answer the question in caps above and say your sorry.

Which is a result of Ted Kennedy’s treasonous immigration act of 1965. It’s not Ted Cruz’ doing. Ergo immigration needs to be fixed, just not now while the traitors are in power.

immigration needs to be fixed
____________________________________

again what needs to be “fixed” about immigration ???

the only “fixing” people want is for the 30 MILLION illegal aliens who are in the US to have AMNESTY..

that’s not fixing immigration...

that’s not even immigration that’s merely giving AMNESTY to people who have broken the law and have not stopped...

Illegal aliens do not immigrate..

I knew of his personal gardener hiring illegals and him looking the other way, if he ever bothered to notice.

But I did like his espoused position on illegals.

I did NOT know of the State of Mass hiring illegals and him being aware and choosing not to act.

Allowing those who are here illegally to stay and work here, under any conceivable circumstances, is Amnesty in my book.

And I will never place a vote for somebody who supports that. I don't care if it's Ted Cruz, Mitt Romney or anyone else.

and when Willard was told there were illegal aliens working at the MASS gov mansion being paid by the MASS taxpayers, he didn’t fire the “landscape contractor” or tell him to fire the illegal aliens but he kept on hiring them..KNOWING they were illegal aliens..

even TWO years later...

I don't think it was that simple. From the NY Daily News:

RICK PERRY: "Mitt, you lose all of your standing, from my perspective, because you hired illegals in your home and you knew about it for a year. And the idea that you stand here before us and talk about that you're strong on immigration is on its face the height of hypocrisy."

MITT ROMNEY: "I don't think I've ever hired an illegal in my life."

THE FACTS: The truth is that Romney, former Massachusetts governor, never directly hired an illegal immigrant. But he hired a landscaping company that employed them.

In bringing up the matter, Texas Gov. Perry resurrected a charge that has dogged Romney since his last presidential bid. In 2006, Romney learned that the landscaper of his suburban Boston home had employed illegal immigrants. He gave the company a second chance under the condition that it would no longer employ undocumented workers.

But in 2007, during the height of his first Republican presidential campaign, the same company was caught employing illegal immigrants at Romney's home. Romney then fired the landscaper.

At the time, and again Tuesday night, Romney said there's only so much an individual can do when hiring a legitimate company.
Bottom line is that unless Romney decides to become a part-time DHS vigilante, there's not much he can do about the hiring practices of landscape contractors. Note that I'm not even a Romney fan, and I view Cruz as the least of all evils. Why give this dirty laundry an airing? Because it is important to know not just the things we like about the GOP slate, but the bad things as well, before we commit time and money to their candidacies.

Here ya go...

“Today, I fired a landscaping company that I learned was employing people who are not permitted to work here in the United States,” Romney said in a statement. “After this same issue arose last year, I gave the company a second chance with very specific conditions.

What about the sanctuary mansion

You’re right and you’re wrong. The low skill tech workers for Silicon Valley are not what Cruz is considering. He’s too smart to fall for that crap.

Cruz is after the creme de la creme of the rest of the world. Bringing these people to America keeps the USA in the lead and denies competitors an edge. If there are 10 million highly gifted and talented scientists and technologists in the world and 5 million live in the USA, we want a good portion of all the rest.

Talent is a resource. We want to corner the market on brains. It’s not complicated.

Cruz is too smart to allow tech workers who are qualified only to pack software in boxes or work in a call center to enter the USA. He wants the real talent. The universities of the world and the corporate research think tanks know where the talent is. This talent is what Cruz will consider.

But America has to be attractive to recruit top talent. With Obama in power and his idiotic social policies and 24/7 homosexual promotion, American has the image of Detroit to a lot of the real talent we need.

So we need Cruz in the Oval Office to restore American exceptionalism and to restore the attractiveness of the USA to the top talents of the world.

I told you to look at post #134. What the poster describes there is not Cruz’ fault nor is it his plan. The situation in #134 will continue if immigration is not reformed but reform must wait until conservatives are in power. Therefore Cruz is SPOT ON, as usual.

That's a far cry from the Governors Mansion having illegals paid by the Mass taxpayer.

As far as I can tell Romney took the correct steps to end it when it came to his attention relative to his personal property.

" Therefore Cruz is SPOT ON, as usual"

By supporting the legalization of the 20mil now here illegally?

You and I come from a different conservative perspective, that's for sure.
