Just a big guess here, but did the deceased’s simultaneous alcohol consumption (admittedly assumed) and/or a defective railing have anything to do with this tragedy? Consumption of large amounts of THC laden anything in isolation would be more likely to glue one’s behind to a chair or sofa in front of a TV test pattern with a bag of chips in the lap than make one try and play “balance beam” on a hotel room balcony rail.

I remember being so excited about going away to college in another state - wouldn’t have my parents on my back about something all the time. I still got in trouble but it was for such things as not being back in the dorm by 10 p.m., eating in my room, wearing Bermuda shorts instead of a dress or skirt on campus on a day other than Saturday, etc. Not sure how our generation would have handled the drug availability issue. Thankfully our parents didn’t have to.
Too much law - Tyranny. I think that’s a pretty simple concept.
Apparently, marijuana doesn’t confer immunity to stupidity or accidents.

You have the right to do as you please until it violates the rights of others. We used to teach that in High School Civics class. I guess we don’t anymore.
When is MADD going to come out screaming? are they going to wait until 1000’s have died from drivers driving high on pot?
They suspect that either marijuana is being substituted for alcohol, and isn’t as impairing, or that pot smokers tend to stay home, instead of going out to drink.
The cool thing about being a conservative is having an open mind to facts as they are revealed!
I kicked one crazy out for threatening others while on pot and I there is another that threarens people and goes out driving high. What a great drug, they should test for high drivers.

Because many people who try pot stop drinking completely. It is far safer, healthier, less impairing, does not alter metabolism, easier to carry, easily homegrown, far cheaper (even when illegal) and not physically addictive. Better than alcohol in every way.
Of course reducing alcohol consumption is terrifying to alcohol companies.
It is not addictive and that is why people are so fanatical to get there hands on it.
Cookies are a well known gateway dessert.
The minute some scientist does a study on this you can bet the results will prove driving while high reduces your reaction time and results in a decrease in your driving skills.

ANY activity that causes pleasure or escape can be psychologically addictive.
I was referring to chemical addiction where the body experiences pain or damage when a certain chemical stops.
If you’re drunk for 10 years straight and suddenly stop, you will be non functional due to severe pain and there is a chance you can die.
If you consume pot for 10 years and suddenly stop, the worst thing that MIGHT happen is slight insomnia and poor appetite for 1 week. And that’s only in the most extreme cases.
I can’t wait to hear the rationalizations as the marijuana rehabilitation centers multiply. At least Colorado and Washington demonstrate the value of our federal system. The citizens of those states will be living proof of the danger involved in playing with ones mind.
