ITHACA, N.Y. -- A motorist who pulled into an Ithaca parking lot when he got lost this morning told police he had his vehicle carjacked at gunpoint.
The victim said he pulled into the parking lot in the 200 block of West State Street shortly before 2 a.m. when a woman appeared at the driver's side window of his SUV and pointed a handgun at him, Ithaca police said.
The woman had gotten the victim's attention by knocking on his window with what he believed was the gun, although he was not looking up at the time, police Officer Jamie Williamson said.
The woman ordered the driver to sit in the front passenger's side, police said. When he did, a man got into the back of the vehicle and the woman sat in the driver's seat, Williamson said.
The man in the back seat pressed what the victim believed was a gun to the back of the victim's head as the woman drove toward Elmira, Williamson said.
When they got to the 300 block of South Applegate Road, the woman stopped the vehicle in the middle of the road, ordered the victim out and sped toward Elmira, police said.
Police would not disclose the name, age or any other information about the carjacking victim.
The victim described the woman's gun as a silver semi-automatic handgun with a very long barrel -- probably 7- to 8-inches, Williamson said. The victim did not see the gun that the man in the back seat pointed at his head, the officer said.
Ithaca police are reviewing surveillance videos at convenience stores and other businesses in the area of the crime, Williamson said.
The victim wasn't physically injured, but likely suffered mental trauma, Williamson said.
"It was a pretty harrowing experience," the officer said.
The vehicle is a blue 2005 Volvo V70 SUV, with a New York state license plate number of GKZ3186, police said. Anyone with information should call the Ithaca Police Department at 607-272-3245.
City of Evil bump
Moving around Ithica after dark is not recommended.
And I thought Kingston, Newburgh, and Poughkeepsie are bad.
Thankfully the SAFE Act prevented criminals from getting guns to commit crimes. Oh, wait, Nevermind.
The criminals know darn well that the average Ithacan is an antigun liberal and, therefore, easy pickings
Damn shame that.
They used to make a hell of a shotgun up there.
I hope she didn’t have a Hi-Cap in that illegal assault pistola.
Because criminals do not obey laws, duh.
Well, it’s good that the cops are releasing no info on the victim, BUT WHAT ABOUT A DESCRIPTION OF THE PERPETRATORS????
I might be able to hazard a guess as to the reason for that, but I'm not going to put it in writing.
Yep.
My first shotgun was a lever break Ithaca Super Single 12 ga.
I was just a kid when I bought with paper route money.
“BUT WHAT ABOUT A DESCRIPTION OF THE PERPETRATORS????

Why is it that they never mention that the Perps are NEGROES? If they were white, Asian, etc., it would be MENTIONED, so therefore we have to ASSUME they are BLACK. Could POLITAL CORRECTNESS be the answer?
We grew up on the Model 37 and my brother and I still each have a few of the old ones.
Wonderful guns.
Gotta have a shotgun in that place. Preferably an Ithaca shotgun.
Did he give the criminal any Ithaca dollars?
The rule of thumb from the handbook of journalist rules (it’s a given that it’s leftist) is that if the race of a perp isn’t mentioned, usually in bold and underlined, that the perp was black. Also, statistically, it’s more than likely to have been black perps (I learmed on a cop blog that cops, at least Chicago ones, never say “perp”, but I’m neither a cop nor from Chicago, so I’ll keep using it as it’s shorter to type. I don’t why they don’t use it-at the cop blog, I noticed they mostly say “sh*theads” but that couldn’t be the official terminology. Or maybe in Chicago, it is.)
The female suspect is described as a medium skin black female, thin build, about 20 years old, with an overbite and protruding gums. She was last seen wearing a pink hooded sweatshirt, a black head band and gray sweatpants, with white lettering down the side, Ithaca Police said. The victim did not get a good look at a male suspect, police said.

Finally found a paper that showed a little nerve.
