Democrats said to push for new changes to ObamaCare amid midterm fears

Several Democratic senators reportedly plan to introduce as soon as Thursday a set of principles and legislation aimed at fixing parts of ObamaCare amid concerns the law could cost Democrats House seats and possibly the Senate in November.

Sens. Mark Warner, D-Va.; Mark Begich, D-Alaska; Mary Landrieu, D-La.; Heidi Heitkamp, D-N.D.; Joe Manchin, D-W.Va.; and Sen. Angus King, I., Maine, will introduce proposals to improve the law, The Wall Street Journal reported.

Begich and Warner have called for allowing "copper" plans on the government-run health exchanges. The new insurance plans would offer lower premiums and higher out-of-pocket costs than the "bronze," "silver" and "gold" options currently offered.

"I've always been a believer that the law was not perfect, but you should continue to work to improve it," Begich told the newspaper. "People are seeing that as it's implemented, there are tweaks you need to do and there's just nothing wrong with that."

That’s silly! The insurance companies dug their hole and no matter what I want now, I can’t undig them.

They were stupid enough to get in bed with Obama and they were warned of the intent.

The only thing that can save them now is full repeal but even then they will only be a shell of themselves when investors rapidly bail knowing there will never be “30 million new customers”.

So far as I know if you pay the fine you do not get any coverage but I could be wrong about that...

Talk all you want, there are enough progressive Republicans in the House and Senate that will support any plan put forth by Demoncrats. This will happen. It will get passed. Republicans always, always a) shoot themselves in both feet and both kneecaps and b) are the only group of people that can snatch defeat from the jaws of victory every chance they get while considering themselves brilliant strategists and c) never have the ability to learn from their past mistakes, especially since it involves endorsing their most despised, loathed and hated enemy, Reagan conservatives.
