The children who get hurt by guns are expressing curiosity about a taboo item. If the item isn’t taboo it loses its allure. After they witness the damage it can do they will realize it isn’t a toy.

My doctrine is to ensure she possesses a confidence producing skill-at-arms before she ever truly understands the terrible potential, so that when she DOES learn that potential she will already consider herself it's competent master (sorry, I can't bring myself to say "mistress")

I'm not worried about the relatively easy task of producing a safe kid, so much as I am aiming to produce a truly "American" woman.
