With the stroke of Gov. Mike Pence's pen, Indiana became the first state to back off implementing a set of national standards for grade-school education.
The standards, known as Common Core, had been adopted by 45 states, but have lately unleashed a political fight that blurs party lines.
"'I believe our students are best served when decisions about education are made at the state and local level,' said Pence in a release about Senate Bill 91.
" 'By signing this legislation, Indiana has taken an important step forward in developing academic standards that are written by Hoosiers, for Hoosiers, and are uncommonly high, and I commend members of the General Assembly for their support,' he said.

Excellent news
Kudos to The Governor,.....Indiana...and COMMON .. SENSE!
Hope Springs Eternal!
But you can bet that those who promoted Common Core in Indiana are still present and hoping and working to produce more liberal propaganda.
It’s “Common Porn” and “Math for those who don’t want to really learn Math”.
Remember, anything pushed by someone with an “Education” degree is worth just slightly less than an Obama promise.
Most of them are teachers as well, at least in many of the urban areas. Around here they catch on really quick that the people in our little town throw a sh*t fit when one of them tries to push that stuff on our kids.
Some small towns around are adamant not to let their standards fall like in other places.
Good for your state. Let the revolt begin in Indiana.
Good for them. Must be intelligent people in charge.
YES! Wish FR had a like button!
Isn’t that how all leftists approach “public policy”?
Like voter ID?
When you get to a lower level than “zilch”, it is still “zilch”.
Promises that do not deliver cannot do less than not delivering. Threats that do not deliver, however, have to be considered a positive.
I’d be interested in knowing why they support when everything indicates kids will be less educated as a result.
For those of you interested in “the rest of the story” take a look at the link.
One of her best friends is a transplant here from Seattle, she was whining about it last week and threatened to move back to Washington if it went through. (she has 3 kids in our local schools). She hates this area with a passion now that she is divorced, won’t even come into our living room because she doesn’t want to have to look at my gun cabinet. My wife has yet to inform her that she has a CCW permit and keeps one in her purse, that will be my next revelation when she decides not backtrack on her promise to move.
Wouldn’t it be great if stupid liberal ideas couldn’t cross state lines?
Sounds like such a good idea that the country should have been founded that way... Wait a minute! IT WAS FOUNDED THAT WAY!
Your wife needs to cultivate better tastes in Friends. If’n I were you I would tell this B!TCH to Carry her A$$ETS back to FAGGOT/POT Lovin’ “Washington State”!
