The ones "judging" him are on our side!!! Lively and LaBarbera are stalwart champions of conservatism and are viciously attacked for it incessantly. They know when an ally is compromising, and they know that it harms the cause of conservatism immensely and irrevocably.
I’m reminded of some evangelical religious leader (IIRC it was jerry Fallwell, or Pat Robertson) making diparaging remarks about Desmond Tutu back in the 20th century. I saw all sorts of stories from both sides skewering him for what he said, but it was WEEKS before I found an article that actually quoted him. In fact, thanks to the internet, it’s easy to see today: https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=pat+robertson+desmond+tutu+does+not+speak+for+all+the+blacks+of+south+africa&oq=pat+robertson+desmond+tutu+does+not+speak+for+all+the+blacks+of+south+africa
What he actually said was that TUTU did not speak for the majority of blacks in South Africa, and what he said was actually true. Tutu was at odds with the Zulu’s, which were the majority of blacks in SA.
I don’t want to be doing the same thing here. I want to see what Cathy actually said and the conditions under which he said it.
Yeah, we got to view it through their blessed minds and count ourselves thankful. Don’t fret ourselves with the facts.
