I’m reminded of some evangelical religious leader (IIRC it was jerry Fallwell, or Pat Robertson) making diparaging remarks about Desmond Tutu back in the 20th century. I saw all sorts of stories from both sides skewering him for what he said, but it was WEEKS before I found an article that actually quoted him. In fact, thanks to the internet, it’s easy to see today: https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=pat+robertson+desmond+tutu+does+not+speak+for+all+the+blacks+of+south+africa&oq=pat+robertson+desmond+tutu+does+not+speak+for+all+the+blacks+of+south+africa
What he actually said was that TUTU did not speak for the majority of blacks in South Africa, and what he said was actually true. Tutu was at odds with the Zulu’s, which were the majority of blacks in SA.
I don’t want to be doing the same thing here. I want to see what Cathy actually said and the conditions under which he said it.
I will look for the original quote later, even if I have to pay to get it. I will post as much as is allowed without copy write infringement.
Please keep in mind the ensuing development of this incident.
Cathy met with virulent homosexual activists after he spoke on marriage in 2012, and placated them with assurances that he would not donate any longer to organizations which the homosexual groups deemed “anti-gay” in their stances on marriage. This is a fact.
