Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: New French satellite images show possible debris from a missing Malaysian airliner deep in the southern Indian Ocean, Malaysia said on Sunday, adding to growing signs that the plane may have gone down in remote seas off Australia.
The latest lead comes as the international search for Malaysian Airlines Flight MH370 entered its third week, with still no confirmed trace of the Boeing 777 that vanished with 239 people on board.
"This morning, Malaysia received new satellite images from the French authorities showing potential objects in the vicinity of the southern corridor," the Malaysian Transport Ministry said in a statement. "Malaysia immediately relayed these images to the Australian rescue co-ordination centre." The statement gave no details as to whether the objects were in the same vicinity as the other possible finds in a vast swathe of some of the most inhospitable sea territory on Earth.
The first visual sighting of objects that might be linked to the plane boosted search operations on Sunday. Australian officials said a wooden cargo pallet, along with belts or straps, was spotted Saturday in a remote stretch of the southern Indian Ocean that has become the focus of an intense international search in recent days.
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott said Sunday there was "increasing hope" of finding the plane.

FROM CBS News:
The new information given to Malaysia’s government and forwarded to searchers in Australia shows “potential objects” in the same part of the ocean where satellite images previously released by Australia and China showed objects that could be debris from the plane, Malaysia’s Ministry of Transport said in a statement without providing further details.
Wooden pallets and straps are integral to 99% of maritime commerce, but that won’t stop the usual suspects from leaping on this “evidence” to feed yet another round of lunacy.
Yeh thats the ticket. :-)
Blank check to spend whatever they want just what every government agency everywhere loves to get their hands on. How many billions can we spend?
This should be good for a least an hour of video on CNN showing what a pallet is. They could throw one in the water to show how it floats.
Then BOR can spend an hour and a half complaining about CNN’s pallet coverage.
Would be fascinating and viewer-drawing to determine how many CNN correspondents it takes to make the pallet no longer float.
Doesn’t sound very pallet-able to me.
No signs or evidence of debris of where it crashed, but were closing in on it. LOL!
Squirrel!
I would love to know how a pallet, which is made of wood held together by nails, could survive a 500 mph crash when the rest of the plane did not.
That was bad — but then again how wood I know.
Hey, I found a pallet behind my garage! Maybe it went down in my backyard?

’ Candybar Crowley might skew those results?’
Didn’t you mean to say, ‘skrew the results’?
Yeah, we should just say the hell with it and quit looking. Nobody needs to know what happened on that plane. /s/
They might be better off searching for the pilot’s life insurance policies and finding out who the beneficiaries are???
“Have you considered how Candybar Crowley might skew those results?”
They would simply use the rising sea levels as proof of “Global Warming”.
I would watch Comedy News Network for that!
