Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: New French satellite images show possible debris from a missing Malaysian airliner deep in the southern Indian Ocean, Malaysia said on Sunday, adding to growing signs that the plane may have gone down in remote seas off Australia.
The latest lead comes as the international search for Malaysian Airlines Flight MH370 entered its third week, with still no confirmed trace of the Boeing 777 that vanished with 239 people on board.
"This morning, Malaysia received new satellite images from the French authorities showing potential objects in the vicinity of the southern corridor," the Malaysian Transport Ministry said in a statement. "Malaysia immediately relayed these images to the Australian rescue co-ordination centre." The statement gave no details as to whether the objects were in the same vicinity as the other possible finds in a vast swathe of some of the most inhospitable sea territory on Earth.
The first visual sighting of objects that might be linked to the plane boosted search operations on Sunday. Australian officials said a wooden cargo pallet, along with belts or straps, was spotted Saturday in a remote stretch of the southern Indian Ocean that has become the focus of an intense international search in recent days.
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott said Sunday there was "increasing hope" of finding the plane.

I found this in my shed.....makes me optimistic we'll find the rest.
Well you stayed glued to the TV til they call it flotsam and jetson which is what it will be. :-)
You are correct but passenger aircraft typically carry their cargo and bags in alum bins. Flat pallets are used on cargo aircraft.
Could be...better double check, you might have missed it.
Of jackass!
NEWS FLASH! We have no facts, and now for the latest speculation ....
“I want Facts....I mean Innuendo...I want innuendo!”
Keeps us searching for MH370 in a place where it is not.
Best theory I’ve heard all week. Let’s go with it!
This is story is going to go longer than the Natalee Holloway disappearance.
What if it’s not all the usual suspects, hijacking, mechanical failure, suicide, etc? What if it happens again? Now that would be scary.
Would be fascinating and viewer-drawing to determine how many CNN correspondents it takes to make the pallet no longer float.
Even I would tune in!
Apparently someone did. See reply 29.

Maybe they can find a blonde girl clinging to a pallet. You can sell a lot of reverse mortgages with that story!
They could then put Candy Crowley & special guest Madeline Albright on it, and they could discuss the foreign policy issues involved in the search.
The search ships are looking for a pallet, but they are just lumbering along.
Wooden Pallets..yeah that’s something common you see on a plane..maybe they will find the SS Minnow while their at it
but...but... Some crazy ex military clown says the plane was taken to Pakistan?!?
